Hi guys, I know it's been the longest while in the last 4.5 years since I updated the deck. SORRY about that. I've been experimenting with MTG Arena lately and the experience is really better than on MTGO...Pluss I bet it'll probably a matter of time since everything gets shifted to Arena.
The only true bummer is that there aren't best 2-of-3s w/ sideboard play on Arena yet, but I think it's safe to say that that's just a matter of timer also!

EastsideRock You going to come out with a Pioneer Grixis list?

You should probably sideboard suffocating fumes, because it wouldn't work against control. " i'll take out dream trawler with suffocating fumes"

Just so you know, Arena has "Traditional Standard Ranked" which is best of 3 with sideboard.

You have replaced teferi! Bolas seems to do the job of being an exile machine/ win condition quite easily

What about some destructive tampering for an artifact removal?

Stumpy123 It took a minute but both copies of Kroxa since ZNR have been performing good.

I've been loving playing this decklist on Arena! It's so satisfyingly mean to just nuke everything they get into play, if you let them in at all. I find it quite amusing to imagine my opponents' frustration that they don't get to keep any of their nice things. I had been pondering a new approach to standard; I usually pick through previews of each new set and try to find a card or mechanic to build around, usually resulting in some janky (but sometimes fun to play) decks. So recently I considered picking a color combo or general archetype to stick with through new sets and rotations. Weighing those possibilities brought me here, where I discovered that you've been doing exactly that. Grixis is a great choice too, since we'll always be ready to slot our lord and master Nicol Bolas in when he finds his way back into standard (and you know he will someday). So anyway, thanks for all the great work you've put into maintaining this, keep on doing what you're doing!

Nice list, but why no Bonecrusher Giant ? It's one of the best cards in standard right now, and seems like a great 2 for one in the deck. Serves as removal at times and is also an efficient creature that really puts a pressure on the opponent's life total (when necessary, since it is often a blocker as well). I also feel like heated debate is a little bit slow, considering that it's 3 mana and doesn't always kill creatures. Black -- a color you're playing -- offers much better removal, and "can't be countered" doesn't seem very important. Also, I think a few copies of Extinction Event and Shadows' Verdict would be nice. You might also want to play a little bit more islands, since you have 2 castle vantresses.

LandoLRodriguez Hey thx man! Glad you been liking the deck! I've been quite busy but still been updating the deck because I can't help to keep the deck playable as new sets come out! Checkout the new changes, let me know if you gave it a try / some additions of your own that works! Cheers!

Clashboy15 I could see a list more midrange with the Giants, but I prefer to keep everything card advantage and removal in this list, with some wincons of my choice (these could vary depending on personel preference and playstyle).
I used to run 2x Extinction but was pretty hit and miss. I am giving the newer wipes a try, might come back to Extinction eventually depending on meta!
Thx for dropping by! Cheers!

Still playing this deck (more or less), but I've made far fewer changes since Kaldheim than you have. Partly just cuz I've been pretty happy with its performance and having fun playing it, and cuz Foretell has become one of my favorite mechanics in quite some time. Saw It Coming will definitely be my go-to counterspell until it leaves standard. It feels like putting a bullet in the chamber every time I foretell it. I'm very interested in what your plans are post-rotation, cuz this one hurts. Losing Kroxa, Sharknado, and Ugin all at once sucks, those cards were responsible for ending the vast majority of games. Ashiok was always a hugely disruptive force as well. What do you think about having to replace all that closeout power? One thing I've found is that Xanathar, Guild Kingpin fits nicely into the 6 cmc slot Sharknado is vacating, although I hardly ever get to actually dig through my opponent's library with it, it either meets removal immediately or it's a scoop.

Hey LandoLRodriguez!! Thx for dropping a comment!! Indeed this rotation will stir a lot of things up, but I do believe we have a lot of cool new toys!! The list as you see now is the cards I currently own on Arena, the long list of Maybe has some cards in it that FOR SURE I will test with, some that will be in the side, and some plain ol' maybes really depending on the meta!! I'm just about to take this list for a casual spin just to see the meta!!
You gotta love the new 5-mana static Snapcaster Mage hehe!!! Also, I believe that the Smoldering Egg will be soooo good for us, defending early games, killing shit and ending games in the air!! To be continued I don't want to get too ahead of myself before even having played one game haha!! But expect this deck to be completed in a few weeks!

Hello again! You'll probably hear from me fairly frequently, if you don't mind, since you and I are doing the same thing in the same colors, and I'll always be interested in the direction you take your deck. I put my list up here Arena Grixis Control if you'd like to take a look. I've been running it on arena since MID came out and while I miss Kroxa and Sharknado and such, it's still been pretty fun. We've certainly both zeroed in on some of the same new toys; Gisa fits in very nicely, considering how many of our opponents' creatures we'll be zapping every game. Yes, Smoldering Egg Flip definitely deserves at least 2 slots! In principal, I want to be really minimal with creatures in this scheme and only really want big splashy ones, but the egg just accomplishes so much. Like you said, a 0/4 blocker early game is great to have, especially with all the aggro in the meta right now. It doesn't take too long to spend 7 mana on instants and sorceries and once the egg hatches and each one sends 2 damage anywhere (not to mention it's now a 4/4 flyer) it gets really fun. I'm running a couple copies of Tergrid Flip because not only do I love how sacrifice removal like Soul Shatter and Umbral Juke (plus Totally not Liliana's -3) gets around both hexproof and indestructible (screw you, Toski), but I've had other folks drain me out with Tergrid's Lantern and thought "Hey, that's just mean enough to want to do myself". I hadn't really considered Lier; getting access to all the instants and sorceries in the graveyard is definitely great, but a lot of games have hinged on countering the right spell at the right time and I wouldn't want her taking that chance away. I still definitely recommend Xanathar, and would also encourage throwing at least 1 copy of Hall of Storm Giants in (it's proven really invaluable as both a threat when the battlefield is clear but I'm top decking for a closeout bomb, and as a nice fat blocker if the opponent has managed to keep some stuff). If there was one card I'd strongly recommend that perhaps you hadn't considered though, it's Geistflame Reservoir. Getting it out on turn 3, it doesn't take many turns before it's capable of doing a considerable amount of damage to any target for just 2 mana. Plus it can help dig through the library if necessary. I've loved it and will likely slot in a second one at some point. Anyway, that's probably enough for now. Enjoy your Grixising!

LandoLRodriguez Hell yeah man!! I still have a lot of testing to do but I'm pretty convinced I'll be maxing out on the egg! It accomplishes so much and you get to 2-for-1 once it's transformed and really tempo out the opponent. Tegrid is dope, I'm gonna add it to my Maybe as a potential great sideboard card against a sac deck! Lier is amazing man, just played some games where I had her + PW Tibalt, my hand had access to like 25 spells haha. I don't run enough counter magic to risk dropping Xanathar, although he looks awesome, just a personnal preference at this point. Gisa is bossss man, WOW. I've dropped her and wiped the board with meathook and instant change of tides + win lolll....Meathook is not to be f'ed with (just realized it's an enchantment after my first cast LOLLL), which netted me a lot of life. Amongst all these cards mentioned there are SO MUCH synergy it is AWESOME. Red Rowan's emblem degenerates so quick, and I had her with Prox Onyx, spells and damage came out of all sides lol. Hall of Storms YESSS, def gonna slide in a few copies of those eventually!

LandoLRodriguez Yeah so Goldspan Dragon is way too good haha! Hadn't read correctly the last sentence of text on him, him having hasting and conveniently dropping you 2 extra mana is way too good!! Also doubled up on Rowen because that emblem is insalely good in our deck, and at 3 mana he is easy to drop and bring back with Blood on the Snow. Testing going great, this deck is fun stuff! I am still hunting some wild cards to complete my mana base, but it is going good!

Ahoy ahoy dear YvonneMae aka DarkAngel367 aka MadLuckKingg! It has sure been a while! Anyway you look at it, any deck with 4x Goldspan is gonna be pret-ty solid lol! As with all new set releases, I have an incredible urge to update the deck. So far I have just slotted in 3x charms which seem like a no brainer (modal removal / dig+draw) is where we always want to be, and 1x Avatar just for fun as it seems pretty nutty on the drawing/nerfing gameplan (not like we needed another finisher, we have been really spoiled on that side lately).
The main gameplan other than to smash face with Goldspan is to take as much advantage with Lier as possible. If opponent is too effective on killing Lier or flushing yards, I'm siding both out and siding in Hermits and countermagic. Been pretty fun! Haven't played yet since new set release though, still have to adjust land base before taking it for its first spin.
Cheers!

Deliver into Evil is a highly underrated card in the proper Grixis shell. I've been testing a Grixis shell around it and it's looking very promising. I'll post soon.
