Dual Decks

Dual decks are my attempt to create a series of interesting casual decks, designed to be played against each other. The twist is that each dech is built using two separate creature tribes, and tied together with Maskwood Nexus which gives all creature types to all of your creatures. Each deck aims to show off both the strengths of its tribes, as well as a few famous MtG combo mechanics used in unusual ways. Each Dual deck is 61 cards, with the last card being an Un-card or playtest series card which is added for silliness, and can be removed if you prefer.

Summary

Elf decks are fantastic at making mana, but all they usually do with it is give all Elves +9/+9 and swing for lethal. With Eldrazi, we can give all our Elves Annihilator 3 instead! ...and then swing for lethal. The formula is simple, but it works.

Opening hands

Arbor Elf is a huge deal, and it may be worth taking a Mulligan to get one. You may need to decide based on your opponents: a hand with 1 land and 2 Arbor Elves could be extremely strong, unless one of your friends is going to ping those elves in the first few turns and leave you stranded.

Combo Mechanic: Untapping lands

This is a pretty famous combo: Turn 1 Arbor Elf and Turn 2 Utopia Sprawl gets you an easy 6 mana on turn 3. Throw in Elvish Guidance, and your super Forest can get way out of control. From there, it's just a matter of keeping your card draw up and getting fun things.

Combo Mechanic: All Elves

If you're used to playing with new Elf cards, you might expect "elves you control" to be on a lot of cards. But Wellwisher, Timberwatch Elf, and Elvish Guidance are OLD Elf cards, and they count every Elf in play. If you're going against other Dual decks with Maskwood Nexus in them, you may find yourself gaining more life/mana/stats than you expected. A LOT more.

Small combo: Maskwood Nexus + Path of Annihilation

All of your creatures now tap for mana of any color. Note that this doesn't include colorless mana, so you still need a Wastes or Guildless Commons to cast Kozilek. Or, you can just sacrifice your scions/spawns after tapping them, getting 2 mana each!

Small combo: Fauna Shaman + Spawnbed Protector

It isn't the biggest deal, but it's very satisfying to discard an Eldrazi to Fauna Shaman and immediately get it back with the Protector. This makes it a lot more reliable to turn your huge mana into a win.

Final combo: Echoing Equation + Pathrazer of Ulamog

Here it is, the fun. Every elf dreams of one day becoming a 9/9 with Annihilator 3. And, since Equation is stapled to Augmenter Pugilist   it can be searched for with Fauna Shaman.

Un-card: Sole Performer

You really have to play this card to realize just how bonkers it is. Got a land that taps for 5 mana? Performer makes it 15. Gaining 8 life from that Wellwisher? Now it's 24. Want to buff something with Timberwatch Elf and then cast Windswift Slice? Triple-buff it! That's a lot of elves!

Updates Add

Funny story, Flooded Grove is actually cheaper than Wastes and can produce colorless mana, so I'm swapping it in.
