Fiendslayer Paladin has run extremely well in my Boros deck as well as Elite Inquisitor. Boros Elite is also a great one drop.

I think this deck is strong as it is, but here's some ideas:

I'd definately replace Battlefield Forge with Clifftop Retreat. The fact that the Retreat enters tapped on turn one isn't really much of a problem.

Student of Warfare is an amazing one drop that's powerful and relavent in all stages of the game. Like McSween7, I've had success with Elite Inquisitor, Fiendslayer Paladin and Boros Elite.

Silverblade Paladin is an enormously powerful three drop that can help you swing for lethal astonishinly fast. It can turn almost anything into a devastating threat!

Like Hero of Bladehold, Sublime Archangel is an amazingly powerful curve topper. I like pairing the archangel with Silverbalde Paladin.

Gather the Townsfolk adds more humans for your Champion and adds a small token aspect to help swarm the board. Mirran Crusader is incredibly powerful and can rampage through opposing black or green decks while also being a human.

I would cut skyknight for Mirran Crusader. Really the card is FAR more powerful and gets through unblocked against most deck swingin for 4. Especially with elspeth and anthems he is nuts in a humans deck. If u want to go full aggro however i would cut the walkers for more precinct captains and accorder paladins.

If you have like 20 dollars you should add 4 Lightning Helix i personally would take out 1 of each of these Honor of the Pure Lightning Bolt Boros Charm and Path to Exile thats just my suggestion.

Bolt is like the best card in the modern format. I would not recommend cutting it. Every modern deck that has access to red runs a playset. Rather cut some other spells.

Martial Coup? If nothing else, can be an effective board wipe and feed your Champion!

Spear of Heliod could be interesting it's 1 more mana than Honor of the Pure but yea adds the fact that opponents won't want to swing at you with things they set up. Brimaz, King of Oreskos is another one I found just downright dirty for 3 mana he can attack and block to generate tokens.

I say get rid of the 'walkers. They are just a little too slow for this deck. I say add Gather the Townsfolk or finish out some playsets of your cards. Also, you can add some metagame dependent cards, such as Thalia, Guardian of Thraben or Grand Abolisher. Boros Charm would be an interesting cards, seeing as it can give your creatures indestructible. Also, if you want some LOLs, add Norin the Wary. Because Super Champion of the Parish. Isamaru, Hound of Konda is not a bad one-drop. Also, consider Kor Firewalker. Because F U red. Although I love red..

January 8, 2015 10:51 p.m.

If your just using Lighting Bolt as s spell to get rid of creatures, I change it or another cheap burn spell to a Flame Slash for that one extra damage. You never know when it might be necessary.

January 8, 2015 10:56 p.m.

Also... Vexing Devil for the win, It being a deathly one drop for 4 damage or an intimidating 4/3 on the field... Great choice in my opinion.

Lel. Tajic is really not worth it. He is 7 only on attack and under condition also he is cmc 4 and its very hard to get him through. Also how can vexing devil b any good in a humans aggro deck ? And really how can flame slash b better then bolt ?I mean bolts strength lies in its versatility for low cost. In my opinion the removal package is strong enough here.

I know it isn't human, but what about Legion Loyalist?

there is a cool combo that works really well between Silverblade Paladin and Lightning Mauler. Not sure if you want to use the Thatcher Revolt + Champion of the Parish combo, which can be a pretty good combo.

buttergolem says... #16

Unruly Mob is Champion of the Parish's twin, as they get +1 counters when creatures die and enter the battlefield.

I'd take out skyknight for silverblade and bump accorder paladin to 4. My first deck revolved around champion, honor, silverblade for a turn 4 goldfish.

1: Champion of the Parish or a 2/1(my favorite is war falcon).

2: Honor of the Pure swing 2. (Accorder paladin is a good drop here as well.)

3: Silverblade Paladin w/champion swing 6.

4: swing 12. Total 20. Cheers!

I recall a few human cards from my legacy deck Human Burn

that happen to be modern legal that could work in your deck

Nearheath Pilgrim similar to silverblade but lifelink

Thraben Doomsayer human maker

Kessig Malcontents is a burn spell in human form

Vigilante Justice make your humans into mini burns

Thatcher Revolt is fun with a vigilante justice in play

Zealous Conscripts is self explainable

not a human but Hellrider but one of my personal favorites

Burn at the Stake a nasty burn spell that can easily be a finisher if your creature count is high

both zealous conscripts and burn at the stake are a little easier to cast if your current mana base cant cast them if you use Battle Hymn

I also did a gatherersearch for modern with human in the rules text and found a few more possibilities

http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?output=spoiler&method=visual&action=advanced&text=+%5bhuman%5d&format=+%5b%22Modern%22%5d

Elder Cathar seems like he might have potential

Gallows at Willow Hill

Riot Ringleader potential?

Spare from Evil seems like the majority of creatures are non-human

Devout Chaplain sideboard option

not personally a fan of equipment but these two might have use

Avacyn's Collar vigiliance and a pump

Butcher's Cleaver lifelink and a decent power pump

If you can afford them, I'd run Cavern of Souls and AEther Vial especially useful against counterspells and to drop down as many creatures as possible. I'd use Student of Warfare over Soldier of the Pantheon but i think that's a meta call depending on how many multicolor cards you see opponents play. Also Mirran Crusader for Frontline Medic since that pro-green and black plus doublestrike makes him insane, though I could see medic being useful for all out swings every turn.

I feel like Elspeth, Knight-Errant is a little slow for what you're trying to do here. I would take her out and either add in another Ajani, Caller of the Pride or have a playset of Boros Charm.

I'll increase the number of annoying creatures, like Soldier of the Pantheon, Imposing Sovereign. Maybe Brave the Elements.

Nice build! I love the card advantage accrued via Inspector and Confidant.

The two creatures that stand out to me as candidates for being pared down are Grim Lavamancer and Student of Warfare. While I'm a big fan of both, Lavamancer isn't usually great in multiples, especially in a creature deck. You can say the same for Student, with the added complication of him growing off white mana only in a three-color deck.

I'd drop Student to a one-of, and Lavamancer to a one- or two-of. With the open slots, perhaps consider Ranger of Eos for yet more card advantage while tutoring up those two (or whoever else you need).

Contra the comment above, I wouldn't run Brave the Elements--too many non-white creatures. Instead, consider a card like Return to the Ranks to repopulate your board, should a sweeper evade your Charms.

+1, and good luck to you.

Deck looks really strong in my opinion! Have you considered Monastery Swiftspear? She has haste and prowess, and can be tutored up by Ranger of Eos.

I totally agree with ZackBinks. Monastery Swiftspear would be great here. Potentially Temur Battle Rage? Good deck over all. +1.
