Try Sundial of the Infinite + Zirilan of the Claw and keep your dragons alive for only 4 mana.

Sorry, did not see it in the list

Hey, yeah the sundial is a key card of the deck.

December 12, 2012 2:18 p.m.

You know, I think Tel-Jilad Stylus might be the perfect card for this deck. It puts a dragon back in your deck so you wont need to reshuffle it from the graveyard or anything. Then just search it up again!

This looks like a really fun deck to play. +1 anything dragons. Either Mimic Vat or Nim Deathmantle might help out with keeping a board presence. Duplicant is a catch all creature removal for dealing with pesky avacyns and ulamogs. Also, it looks like Spinerock Knoll would work out pretty well in this deck.

I also forgot to add, Thousand-Year Elixir might be handy for your general.

Rishadan Pawnshop also works as another Tel-Jilad Stylus type of card. Still easier than sacing stuff.

Vessel of Endless Rest and Junktroller could have some limited use as well.

Angry_Graybeard thank you for Tel-Jilad Stylus . It is so usefull, that i think it is necessary. Also Thousand-Year Elixir seems a good card here. Junktroller was initially in the list, he is very usefull but doesn't fit well the theme.. I dont know, it's more a feeling than a rational thought.

Yeah BearCounters , it is definitely a fun deck. How didn't i include Mimic Vat ?? Duplicant is also necessary! Thank you! Nim Deathmantle 's ability is too expensive, but i will think on it. Spinerock Knoll is a double-edged sword, and i'm able to do 7 damage when the deck is already online.

You are aware that with Sundial of the Infinite , your dragons will just be exiled at the end of the next player's turn, right? Because that means it really doesn't save your dragons.

Noah5Reason says... #9

If i activate the Sundial of the Infinite 's ability in response to the Zirilan's exiling trigger, i can save my dragons.

Oh... I see what you mean. Thanks! =)

Well in that case, this deck totally gets a +1

It is there with Mana Web . It helps a lot against some control decks. It works exactly like card:War's Toll .

December 15, 2012 2:52 p.m.

itheoryz says... #16

Edh Rules specify you can only produce the colors of your general thus if they don't have black they still can't produce black mana.

December 15, 2012 2:55 p.m.

Noah5Reason says... #17

If all their lands can produce colorless mana then Mana Web 's ability would still trigger since the text specifies: tap all lands that player controls that can produce ANY TYPE of mana that land could produce.

Didn't think of that fair enough

It is a strong sinergy often used in EDH. I only copied it, fair enough =)

Phantasmal Dragon doesn't belong here.

What level of competition is this deck meant to operate at?

December 16, 2012 8:53 a.m.

Noah5Reason says... #21

Phantasmal Dragon corresponds to Hellkite Tyrant, a card from the new gatecrash set. I really don't know at what level this deck can operate. I want it to be competitive as much as possible, but without infinite combos and mantaining the dragon theme. Do you have suggestions?

December 16, 2012 11:57 a.m.

I don't think it will hold up at tourney-level competitions simply because of the limitations of mono-red.

Does card:Lion's Eye Diamond do anything for you? It seems like the only application it could have is paying for activation or optional costs on abilities. It can't pay for anything else.

I'm surprised to not see card:Mind's Eye here; it tends to be a popular draw engine in mono-red decks because of how little else red gets to work with in the draw department.

Noah5Reason says... #23

Yes, mono-red weakness in edh is a fact and maybe this deck still doesn't cover it so well. card:Lion's Eye Diamond is a discard engine that provides me mana to play Zirilan on first turns. But without Goblin Welder on the field it looks like a dead card almost everytime, i must admit it.

card:Mind's Eye would be a great addition. Maybe i will replace card:Lion's Eye Diamond with it.

Thank you for your precious contribute Epochalyptik

Keep in mind that LED's mana ability actually can't be activated during the casting or activation processes (this is different from normal mana abilities). You have to discard your hand before you can do anything with LED's mana, so it will probably be very difficult to play Zirilan with it.

December 16, 2012 3:39 p.m.

Noah5Reason says... #25

I thought it can be used to play a commander from the command zone. I know i must first discard my hand and then i can add the LED's mana to the pool. With Goblin Welder already on the field it was a relatively good engine, but very situational.
