I think there are plenty of artifacts providing mana ramp. After playtesting a lot i realized that 34 lands are maybe not so much, i think i'll have to find room for some mountains somewhere, specially with valakut on the list, but i don't know istead of what.

Ah, as you can see i followed your advice Epochalyptik and put in card:Mind's Eye and out LED. Any other advice is very welcome. Thank you =)

in EDH you can only use the colors of your commander so that means you are unable to use Phantasmal Dragon

Yup i know, in the description i specify that it corresponds to another card not out yet from Gatecrash set, Hellkite Tyrant.

I know it was already discussed before, but Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth doesn't actually work like that. It makes lands Swamps in addition to, not swamps themselves.
For instance: A forest would be a forest/swamp. The Omnath, Locus of Mana commander would still be able to tap the land to produce a green mana. Now if you had something like Contamination , then said power house gets the shut down.
Small thing that is not super important. Really like the card:War's Toll + Price of Glory . Overall a very interesting deck. +1

Yup, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth makes all lands in play swamps in addition to the original type. So every land in play could produce black mana, but unless you have black in your general identity, they produce colorless mana. This makes trigger Mana Web 's ability with all lands your opponents control, if i read it correctly. Hope i'm right..am i?
Thanks for commenting Karl_von_Karl =)

I see now that you were going for something a bit different from what I thought you were. Clever use, not quite what you think but very close.
The Mana Web would trigger on whichever opponent you targeted with it, but not all opponents because of that "target" clause.
Other than that small point, you are right. All the lands would be considered swamps, so they could produce black mana or colorless as the case may be. That would Web the targeted opponent's field, forcing them to make a very difficult choice with the Price of Glory on the field.

If you need outlets to keep your creatures, card:Ashnod's Altar and Phyrexian Altar are both viable choices

A few times i dont have sac outlets or things like Sundial of the Infinite . When it happens it slows down the deck. Maybe i should include more sac engines, if you have suggestions in regards of sac outlets to put in and what to eventually cut and generally of what could be optimized, please let me know, i would really appreciate it. I think Sundial of the Infinite doesn't prevent the tutored dragon from being exiled since effects that trigger at the end of turn still occur.

Karl_von_Karl is wrong. The rulings of Mana Web say:
"Whenever a land an opponent controls is tapped for mana,...."
Because of this you don't target and would tap the lands of all opponents that tapped a land this turn together with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth .

Sundial of the Infinite saves my dragons since the correct wording of Zirilan's ability states "Exile it at the beginning of the next end step."

Awsome refreshing deck. I like the fact that those dragons are reduced to the level of "utility creatures".
The deck seem fair, no infinite combo, no turn 4 kill, just a nice idea that look awsome on paper. I hope it feel just as good when you play it. +1

Thanks for commenting Bobgalarneau . I really appreciate you like the "fairness" of the deck, i really don't like winning by infinite combos in this format. This deck is the funniest i have and i know there is still room for improvement, so feel free to critique or suggest replacements. Thank you again :)

For quite some time now Zirilan's been a Commander I've wanted to play, but never got around to building. Great to see this build out there, and clever use of the TARDIS, err, card:Conjurer's Closet. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one's evolution.
However, I was surprised to see a lack of my favorite free-sac artifact, Spawning Pit .Fiery Bombardment , Shivan Harvest , and Trading Post might also make for potential considerations, though they've got nothing on the flavor of the way-too-expensive Doom Cannon .
February 8, 2013 12:26 a.m.
Well as far as sacking abilities ive always liked Goblin Bombardment and Fodder Cannon ... Step 1: Find your cousin. Step 2: Get your cousin in to the cannon. Step 3: Find another cousin. you can also use Safe Haven like Cold Storage Terrain Generator can be handy when Dragon Mage goes off card:Jester's Mask can be just as fun as the cap lol I can see Unwinding Clock working wonders for you and i know they are not dragons themselves but you mite want Dragonmaster Outcast and/or Dragonspeaker Shaman

Hey thanks GureiSeion . I totally love Shivan Harvest . It fits the theme and is also another very good control engine that i'll definitely consider. Same thoughts on Trading Post , what a swiss knife! Thank you
Kozelek Goblin Bombardment is a very good sac engine but i don't like the damaging ability, Fodder Cannon 's ability is too expensive. Safe Haven was initially there but it was too risky. Terrain Generator seems a very good addition. card:Jester's Mask well... WOW.. so usefull and so evil at the same time haha. Unwinding Clock is a card i personally love, but i found that here its often a too clunky mechanic, the common situation was that i had always a better card to cast, so i don't know..Thank you Kozelek :)

Welcome!
I use the Trading Post myself in a Maelstrom Wanderer EDH deck. Normally I'd comment a warning to keep an eye on graveyard artifacts to target, but you seem to have that fairly easily covered. Mayhaps a Moltensteel Dragon to mix things up?
February 11, 2013 1:38 a.m.
Noah5Reason says... #23
I like Moltensteel Dragon and he fits absolutely the theme, but he is "only" a beater.
February 12, 2013 12:50 p.m.
Crucible of Fire will help with the beat down but that aint your primary focus on this deck so would Flameblast Dragon and he will help with "spot removal/creature control" so would Masticore evan though he aint a dragon he is a artifact
Epochalyptik says... #1
My mistake; you are correct. I forgot the name of your general for a second and thought Zirilan was merely a card in the deck.
You should aim for a more consistent mana engine if you can.
