Leave the mana-greedy decks of today's Modern as dry as the desert wind . . .

Main Combo

The engine of the deck is Hokori, Dust Drinker. Once he's on the field, the pace of your opponent's strategy slows to a crawl. However, thanks to cards like Arbor Elf, Utopia Sprawl, Overgrowth and Garruk Wildspeaker, you're more than happy to play with only one land.

Prison

Trinisphere and Thalia, Guardian of Thraben further lock your opponent out of the game and can help you control the pace while you're still searching for Hokori

Scepter of Dominance locks down the one land that they do have available. Not bad!

Ghost Quarter prevents any shenanigans.

Win Cons

Once Hokori is in-play, beaters like Knight of the Reliquary and Sigarda, Host of Herons make quick work of your opponent.

Other Card Choices

Heroic Intervention and Eiganjo Castle (which can be tutored at any time via Knight of the Reliquary protect Hokori, Dust Drinker and shut down any cheap removal options.

Path to Exile is a Modern staple and one of the strongest removal spells in the game.
