Hello Everyone!
Since Kaladesh was first spoiled, i was instantly in love with the feel and design of the whole set, but especially the vehicles, specifically Skysovereign, Consul Flagship and Depala, Pilot Exemplar. Since then alot of very good vehicles and other synergistic cards have been spoiled, and i've put together a little brew list. ANY help is wanted and needed, since i have little to no knowledge of standard at the moment so i can't make accurate card choices the way i'd want to.
Short on the deck:It is vehicle-centered, but doesn't run very many. They do have a large problem with them, being that you need to sacrifice blockers and attackers to swing. However, having a few relevant vehicles works perfectly along with a sort of token strategy.
Our one-drop slot is held by
Thraben Inspector
and
Galvanic Bombardment
. Inspector is good at crewing vehicles, and gives some needed draw as well as some artifact synergy where it might be relevant. Bombardment has seemed like the most fitting small removal spell. it hits some relevant creatures from what i know, and 1 mana is a pretty good spot. A 2-mana 3 damage spell might do better. I need some insight on this point.
2-drops:
Declaration in Stone
: Our removal. Yes, they get clues, i know, but i don't really know the relevance of this yet and this deck is pretty fast. Need some insight here too.
Smuggler's Copter: The best vehicle yet to be spoiled. Super good in every way, it's overstatted (which it needs to be), has flying and a loot ability. It's Great.
Speedway Fanatic
: 2/1 haste is good, and it gives vehicles haste, which is awesome. Must include.
3-drops:
Depala, Pilot Exemplar: One of the original build-arounds, yet only 2-of. I've found her clunky despite her effects, but i haven't done much testing. Can change an artisan for another Depala if you prefer.
Glint-Sleeve Artisan
: Speaking of the artisan. A great value 3-drop especially in this strategy. The extra servo is good for crewing as well as himself, so it helps the drawback of crewing while giving us several bodies to play with. Great.
Pia Nalaar: Shines like a star in the deck. A Super-charged artisan, Pia is a toolbox for the deck. can help a final push by saccing a clue or other artifact, pump for damage, and also plays the same role as the artisan. It's sad that it's legendary, but even though it is i'm tempted to run 4, that's how good she's been.
4-drops:
Gisela, the Broken Blade
: Currently a bit of a filler, we do need good stable creatures in this slot that aren't vehicles. Gisela might die to alot of things, but so does everything else and it's no reason to not play a really good card.
Bomat Bazaar Barge
: Provides card draw, vehicle presence as well as occupy the 4-slot, all of which makes it great. 5/5 is good too, even though the crew cost is a bit high.
Start Your Engines: This is a finnisher that lets all our team swing for the kill. Easy as that.
5-drops:
Skysovereign, Consul Flagship: The super-bomb finnisher, this card is the definition of sweet. Well-statted, more than reasonable crew cost and a Lightning Bolt on a stick is super strong especially if hasted with [Speedway Fanatic].
Angel of Invention: In my oppinion this is so underrated. 3 bodies, an anthem effect, as well as relevant keywords on the angel itself, this card is just great. Besides, it having 1 toughness doesn't matter much, since most boardwipes and removal this late in the game deals with 3 or more toughness anyway. This really solidifies the token part of the strategy.
Playing the deck is simple, it's mostly token aggro. Since it hasn't been tested much, i'm afraid of a few things, but nothing more than speculation. The best start is T1 inspector, T2 smuggler's copter use inspector to crew for a block, loot, T3 Pia use thopter to crew for attack, loot, T4 speedway fanatic, T5 Skysovereign crew with fanatic, double lightning bolt and go for win.
I hope you like it, and i appreciate any help i can get with the deck. To not is also the fact that the whole set hasn't even been spiled yet, and there might be awesome additions to come!
