SUMMON DEMONS IN H.P.L.'s MANNER (reanimator with 3 turn 1 win cons).
Please study the works before commenting. I am building this deck from bottom to top one card at the time (in progress since mid -90's). All comments are, like always, very welcome!

MECHANICS 101
The summoner needs to get the cards out of the library fast. Thus, consider Griselbrand and Necrotic Ooze your main assets. There are three turn 1 win conditions:
How to get there?
Try to draw a Swamp, multiple mana accelerators, Buried Alive or Entomb and tools for reanimation, bury and reanimate Griselbrand and take advantage of his Draw -ability. Then reanimate more meat and attack with monsters like
Spirit of the Night
and Minion of the Wastes right away. You can use Exhume on
Spirit of the Night
but you need to use
Shallow Grave
on Minion of the Wastes. If you bury Devoted Druid and Morselhoarder into the Graveyard, Haste-Necrotic Ooze gives you infinite mana.
And, if you can not win turn 1, make sure you drop Sire Of Insanity to choke the enemy out in the end of turn one.
WORD ON SIDEBOARD
Duress and Stubborn Denial -cards are meant to keep control, mill and trickster decks in check. Ferocious triggers already turn one if everything goes as planned. If you face hordes of tokens or Summoner using vast creatures like wurms or eldrazi, maybe
Thrashing Wumpus
or
Blazing Archon
can offer assistance?
Contagion
s are excellent free-of-charge removals if Deathrite Shaman, for example, causes problems.
AN OPENING HAND TO LOOK FOR
(needs to be updated!)
If you go first, with the current composition, the best possible opening hand would be:
With mana ramp and a land you could draw up to eight or nine B for mana. First cast Entomb or Buried Alive. Good combination can be found among
Spirit of the Night
, Griselbrand, Minion of the Wastes and Prime Speaker Zegana.
After burying from one up to three monsters of your liking cast Exhume and for example get Griselbrand up to the table. You still got plenty of black mana left in your mana pool, so now you start drawing the cards. You can hope to draw more tools for mana accelaration and reanimation, or at least more means to put something down there waiting to be pulled back up again.
The best possible situation would be that you buried Griselbrand, Minion of the Wastes and
Spirit of the Night
. You reanimate Griselbrand to draw more mana accelaration and reanimation, reanimate
Spirit of the Night
and Minion of the Wastes and go for kill!
Of course, this is not always possible, but this is what you are looking into. If it appears you can not kill the enemy turn 1, reanimate Sire Of Insanity to ruin the game for the enemy!
CHANGE LOG
1.9
Massive re-works!
Added second
Shallow Grave
and 3x Tendrils of Agony, and 4x Biovisionary as an alternative win con. I am not sure if I am going to keep them, but my reasoning is I can nonetheless feed them to Force of Wills in future. We will see. At least they would be a decent win con for a budget Legacy -deck.
1.8
Added my first
Shallow Grave
and gonna add 2-3 more, and also 2-3
Tendrils of Corruption
s. With them added, there would be two options for kill turn one:
1) Get Griselbrand and enough right cards to attack with
Spirit of the Night
and Minion of the Wastes to finish off the enemy right away.
2) Attack with
Spirit of the Night
and/or Griselbrand and finish the enemy off with Tendrils of Agony. Multiple mana acceleration, zero-cc spells and reanimation should boost the Storm in the spell!
And, as one commenter suggested, added Sire Of Insanity to control the enemy if killing the enemy turn one is not possible. It won't be always, no matter what.
(Feb 2015 erased the old change log which was tracking back down to the 90's, because notes and details were getting too old to make any sense at all).
WORD FROM THE ARTIST
Please note my decks are always based on cards I have and own. I do not create 1500 euro decks of cards from the virtual database just to show off. Instead, I work with cards I actually have access to.
