A deck based around the old mechanic of Echo, where a player must pay additional mana to keep their creature in play during the upkeep after they are cast. Typically the creature does something special when it enters or exits play, so even if the Echo cost isn't paid, something of value happens. The commander for this deck is Gyrus, Waker of Corpses. With Gyrus, creatures can be exiled from the graveyard and come back into play as tokens. With this idea, the echo cost doesn't need to be paid most of the time, because Gyrus can bring them back one time. Along with Echo, Evoke works a similar way. Finally some classic mana ramp, strengthening enchantments, and card draw are desired.
