Maybe you could swap mirri for the sanctum seeker. Let me know how Bishop of Rebirth works for you. bloodline necromancer has one time helped me get edgar back as he died from a boardwipe. (Put him in graveyard cause the tax got to high) So i prefer instant recursion above combat recursion

Seconded regarding the Miri cut. It's vaguely french vanilla and while for a 2-3 drop in this deck that's permissible (and even then, it has to be good to make the cut), mirri isn't that.

I might try the Mirri cut if this doesn't pan out, but for now...

Out: 1x Swamp

In: Sanctum Seeker

So quick question will Abzan Falconer work with say Coat of Arms or say Stensia Masquerade

Thanks in advance

Coat of Arms doesn't add +1+1 counters, it just gives creatures +x+x (which goes away if coat of arms is destroyed) so it won't work. Masquerade does add +1+1 counters so it will work.

Last_Laugh, what are your thoughts on the three signets and Talisman of Indulgence? I cut all four for Mox Diamond, Chrome Mox, another land (37) and Stromkirk Noble. I am not sold on Stromkirk but he seemed the best of the one drop vampires I was not playing. This deck seems to need to go fast and both Moxes seem to fit that strategy.

I experimented with Glengarry's 29 Land Edgar deck. I could be wrong but I think it may be tough for it to win in a four person pod. I am trying to borrow some of the ideas that have synergy with your deck. Gone are some of the more expensive vampires:

Olivia Voldaren, Necropolis Regent, Mirri the Cursed, Falkenrath Aristocrat, Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief, Bloodlord of Vaasgoth, Blood Baron of Vizkopa and Anowon, the Ruin Sage.

These were replaced by mostly one and two mana vampires. I am playing Shared Animosity, Coat of Arms, Purphoros, God of the Forge, and Eldrazi Monument. The first three really care more about the quantity of vampires over the quality.

I am also trying out Scapegoat which I borrowed from Glengarry. It seems in theory to be a card that mitigates the damage done from board wipes.

I am not playing Phyrexian Arena, Heirloom Blade or Greed. I have only cast Dark Prophecy once but it was effective. I am playing additional life gain vampires and may be able to negate some of the life loss.

What do you think? With which of the points are you in most disagreement?

Frank_Glascock I agree with you that this deck needs to be fast. I also cut most of my high cmc vamps from my deck. I'm running a fairly low to the ground, quick, aggressive Edgar deck that has had a lot of success in my pods. This weekend Shared Animosity paired with Cover of Darkness gave me two wins.

I think I'm going to test your idea with Chrome Mox. Seems a lot faster, at the very least I'll swap out one signet.

How many artifacts are you running? Mox Diamond seems iffy.

I'm also not sure about dropping all your high cmc vamps, I'd keep at least 2-3... specifically ones that make your weenies bigger or give you mana outlets like Bloodlord of Vaasgoth or Drana.

Also with the drop in avg cmc, it seems you'll need more draw power but you've opted to downsize and this is probably what I question most. I'm at the point I'll also be adding Dark Prophecy though, my life gain far exceeds my life loss at this point.

Other than that, Scapegoat and Cover of Darkness seem really solid. I need to pick up both still to test.

Ummm scratch point 1... I was thinking Mox Opal and metalcraft lol.

Last_Laugh, which of the draw engines listed above (excluding Dark Prophecy) is the most effective? I was thinking it would be Greed as I can recover quicker from a board wipe.

Frank_Glascock do you have a decklist?

October 10, 2017 12:20 p.m.

Last_Laugh says... #12

Yeah Frank_Glascock... where's the decklist?

And yes, Necropotence is best followed by Dark Prophecy then I'd say Greed.

Cuts I'm thinking about on my end include Mirage Mirror, Phyrexian Arena, and Abzan Falconer

Adds I want to try first include Cover of Darkness, Dark Prophecy, and Scapegoat.

There's a few other cards I want to try. Vona, Butcher of Magan and I want to see if Purphoros is too mean here or not.

October 10, 2017 2:16 p.m.

I have no deck list as I am a bad person.

I cut New Blood for Greed and Asylum Visitor for Cover of Darkness. New Blood had yet to be cast but it seems conditional. Last_Laugh is right in that as my curve lowers more draw is needed. Asylum Visitor was my worse two drop and I wanted to test Cover of Darkness

I dont see the point in intentionally underpowering a deck that is at best tier3 ?

I don't see the point of using a question mark when you aren't asking a question. I'm sure Last_Laugh appreciates your feedback.

Some people don't constantly play against competitive decks

October 21, 2017 4:27 p.m.

Littlepoot, what cards would you add and what would you cut from Last_Laugh's deck to increase the power level?

October 21, 2017 9:31 p.m.

Last_Laugh says... #19

Lol thank you guys. I wasn't going to respond to the obvious 12 year old troll with 0 decklists of his own.

So how are everyone's decks coming along?

I've only played a few games since I've made any changes and so far I haven't seen Purph or Cover of Darkness even once but Scapegoat came in handy twice and gives us the ability to rebound fast post-boardwipe instead of being in topdeck mode.

I was being serious and thank you shadowsteel for answering my question

October 24, 2017 12:09 p.m.

How has Vampire Nocturnus been performing? Has Voldaren Pariah  Flip ever been tested? Those are two higher cost creatures that may be replaced. I play 37 black cards other than Vampire Nocturnus.

Bloodline Necromancer was cut to test New Blood. If testing goes poor, Dark Impostor may slide into this spot or another one or two drop vampire. Any thoughts on any of these cards?

my deck Dracula: Dead and Loving Ithas been performing quite well. Only problem is that i often play my hand out to fast, but thats something i need to work on myself not the deck :) Vampire Nocturnus been performing outstanding in the 3 times i played him so far. I'm curious on what effect Purphuros has in the your deck. (keep us updated)

October 24, 2017 2:11 p.m.

I hope you do not mind me answering this question. Purphoros, God of the Forge is good in Last_Laugh's list. He is playing 30 creatures that will trigger Markov's eminence ability hitting the table for four damage each time. Purphoros, God of the Forge also gets around Ghostly Prison, and Blind Obedience effects. I checked your list and you are playing three artifact/enchantment removal cards. Have these effects been an issue for you?

Purphoros, God of the Forge goes from good to amazing in my deck. You have similar mana cost creatures to Last_Laugh. He has six two mana cost or less vampires. Josh_Estrella (posts on this thread) and I play a lot more (15 for me). I have cast Enlightened Tutor for this guy early and heard groans from my opponents.

I hope this was not overkill on the response.

Sorry for the double post. Tappedout.net has been quirky for me today.
