My Narset deck was oppressive and wasn't much fun for me after awhile. I played with myself while my opponents watched for 20 minutes... and I didn't even get paid afterwards.

Hey Last Laugh, I did a lot of changes to my deck and think it's beast mode now lol. I just threw all the tutors and card draw to shrug off board wipes:
http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/edh-edgars-private-stock/
I think I should maybe fit in Vampire Nocturnus to end gamea, because he'd have a 70% chance of being on, but thinking maybe I should cut a land for him? Any thoughts?

EvilTeaCup - Vampire Nocturnus is pretty dependent on running all your off-color fetches and top of deck tutors for easy 2nd chances to get him active. In 3 colors he's not reliable otherwise.

I'm playing all the tutors and fetches, and also necropotence and vicera seer which also combos with nocturnus, and my deck is 70% black. Do you think I can swing it, or maybe I'd be forced to make suboptimal tutor decisions? Having to keep some fetches up might be a pain, I can see that. My gut says I can have him online a fair amount of the time, but I don't know what the cut is to be honest. My deck is extremely dependent on getting a lot of black sources, while still trying to have enough red and white sources -- so I'm not sure I can cut a land. I cut Goblin Wardrums for Ad Nauasuem, but maybe I should fit goblin wardrums in before nocturnus except that I already have a god that I can get with all my tutors that gives menace.

Great edgar deck! What are your thoughts on Obelisk of Urd ? Usually able to convoke it out with summoning sick vampires for pretty cheap. I'm also playtesting Embereth Skyblazer , as it can be a nice buff as well. I'd like to hear your feedback on my list if you have a chance. I'm looking at making room for reconnaissance but not sure what to cut.

I'd also highly recommend Changeling Outcast , which is a 1cmc unblockable vampire.

jakethewhale007 - Obelisk is super mana intensive for an aggro deck.
Embereth Skyblazer - I run Mirror Entity . It's a Vampire, I prefer the toughness boost, and it stays good no matter how many opponents are left.

Rules question: with Sanctum Seeker, if I attack with 3 vamps does it deal 3 damage or 1?
December 27, 2019 9:30 p.m.
Last_Laugh says... #16
3... 1 for each. Otherwise it'd be worded 'one or more' like Mavren Fein, Dusk Apostle (which only produces 1 token no matter how many vamps you attack with).

This is admittedly minor, but I don't like Changeling Outcast and Duskborne Skymarcher. Vicious Conquistador and Pulse Tracker are much more efficient at pushing damage, and synergize better with Cover of Darkness and Reconnaissance. Shadow Alley Denizen will also generally be better.

I know this deck is retired but it still seems like the place to go with Vampire tribal related questions.
Are Dolmen Gate or Iroas, God of Victory worth running as another Reconnaissance type effect? They would still allow us to get attack triggers off our smaller creatures when needed.
Also after some teasers from this years upcoming products we know Baron Sengir will be getting a new card. For flavor reasons I kinda hope he's still mono black but from a commander standpoint I wouldn't mind if they gave him a new color treatment like they did for Volrath, the Shapestealer this past year

I like this version a lot, if only because it's powered up and seems more ready for the midgame. Would appreciate if you have any tips for my own Edgar deck, which has turned into my cEDH deck for when things get serious. It's based on another 30-land build, but more budget-friendly.

LittleBlueHero - Sorry for a super late reply... I haven't played a game of mtg in like 6 months.
Iroas and Dolmen Gate are both viable but not as good as Recon here. For redundancy I'd go Enlightened Tutor > Idyllic Tutor/Iroas, God of Victory (Tie) > Dolmen Gate in that order. I wouldn't include more than 1 of these personally though.

I feel like Hatred is a great card for this deck. I often use the card as player removal. Given how often you have flying and the propensity of lifelink, its very doable. Putting it on a creature with both like Vampire Nighthawk is just wonderful. You had some amazing suggestions for my deck. I figured I would give my input as well. Thank you.

How badass is Yawgmoths Will in here ? Worth buying it ? Thinking about it .

Gorbah - It's flexible which is nice. You can unload creatures, removal, tutors, and/or finishers from your grave. I've typically used it to recast finishers, removal, and tutors and I usually get to cast 2-3 spells off of it.
Assuming your playgroup is ok with gold border cards, pick up the world championship version for about $30 and save lots of $$$.

Love to see Edgar Markov decks doing well on Tapped Out you. Had a few suggestions that I think could make this a stronger aggro deck.
- Two Mana Mana rocks: In my experience with Aggressive Edgar Markov decks getting the aggressive strategy to work is all about playing at least one vampire every turn from one to four. When you just spend your second turn playing a mana rock you significantly damage the momentum building of your deck and give your opponents a lot more time to build up their boards or find an answer. In addition, you already play cards like Boros Charm and Flawless Maneuver which in a way "preserves" the mana you commit to the board and prevent you from losing momentum. Obviously, cards like Sol Ring and Mana Crypt are perfectly fine as they get you ahead of your curve and you can start comming more powerful vampires earlier in the game and you don't lose any momentum due to their raw efficieny as mana rocks.
Next, I just had a handful of card suggestions
Skymarcher Aspirant over Duskborne Skymarcher, since it just more aggressively statted or even Vicious Conquistador is probably better as well, really up to preference.
Nighthawk Scavenger over Vampire Nighthawk just a strictly better card, if any opponent cracks a fetch in the first 3 turns it's at least just as good but probably has more upside.
Bloodlord of Vaasgoth Maybe he's fun but he is just not a very good card, he is 5 mana and has no immediate board impact, if for whatever reason that he is threatening he will just get removed. In addition Edgar Markov himself is one more mana and has the same role as Bloodlord of Vaasgoth does but just does it better. There are a lot of cards that you could replace him with, perhaps just Bloodghast he is a decent attacker and he is really good with Skullclamp + fetch lands.
Olivia Voldaren + Sangromancer are these just pet cards? that's all well and good to just play the magic cards you want to play. I honestly have no idea how these cards are good in an aggro strategy.
Sorin, Solemn Visitor for Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord, removal, mana cheating, and buffing all on one card and for one mana less. Although Sorin, Solemn Visitor isn't a bad card so you could just put in Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord for one of the other cards.
Nice to see an Edgar Markov deck with Vampire Nocturnus, the best vampire. If you want to check out my own deck I have a link here This deck isn't a pure aggro list but it is one of the stategies the deck can go for.

Sorry to hear that, all us vampires should chip in and crowd fund you getting your deck back! Sounds like the people at your LGS are lame and cowards...
