French / Leviathan ban list

Kamahl, Fist of Krosa

Here is a list that I truly enjoyed. It's just another proof that green is my favorite color.

Man the choices are hard! Oracle of muldaya or not. Big mana doublers are so much fun but are they good enough. If I want to go combo is it worth going full retard in it or not. Is the fight good considering I can fight lands(fyi not really sadly). And so many more dilemmas.

So here I go for land destruction with quite a few cards:

Then combos:

Then general good green stuff (ramp, too good to pass, beatdown, etc) aka everything else.

Cards that usually are auto-includes in green commanders but that I cut and it kinda hurts me to do so and that I still consider putting back in:

  • Duplicant: Usually there to survive Iona, Shield of Emeria. Ulamog, Ceaseless Hunger would also do the trick
  • Oracle of Mul Daya: I found that I had to do insanely hard cuts and that I wasn't running that many lands
  • Scavenging Ooze: the only graveyard hate that I usually want...
  • Tooth and Nail: Almost auto win with Avenger of Zendikar and Craterhoof Behemoth...
  • Skullclamp: Don't think I need to say anything
  • Fetches: Felt like it was more risk (Aven Mindcensor, stifle, etc) without enough benefit (thinning, running cobra, fetching dryad, etc)
  • Yavimaya Hollow: Maximum basics
  • Krosan Grip: Not that many people are running artifact / enchantment combos in my playgroup
  • Pattern of Rebirth: No ultimate broken creature contrary to other decks
  • Fierce Empath: See Pattern of Rebirth

Man as I wrote those I was like wtf why am I not playing those -_- (mostly the first 4)

Few more cards that I find have really big impacts in this deck:

  • Magus of the Candelabra: with all the mana doubling it insane, but didn't make the cut
  • Omnath, Locus of Mana: good to be able to keep your mana open to kill lands, but not enough
  • Sylvan Primordial: at that amount of mana I want to win
  • Wild Beastmaster: Man I really wanted to run this... but no.
  • card: Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger: See sylvan primordial
  • Fallow Earth: So good with the land disruption strategy... but no
  • Prey Upon: The fight that isn't on a creature that I considered the most... but I found that fight things to destroy lands isn't that good because it relies too hard on having your commander out and mana to do it, so unless it was repeatable or on a really good creature (Polukranos, World Eater) then it didn't make the cut
  • Savage Punch: same as prey upon, plus there's a guy punching a bear... I mean...come on!
  • Garruk, Primal Hunter: Man I want this so bad in my deck... I used to run it... it often was pay 5 draw 4...
  • Extraplanar Lens: pretty much the only mana doubler that I don't run, too risky that it gets destroyed
  • Benefactor's Draught: Really good considering you can transform your lands, overun, untap them, attack... but just too inconsistent
  • Pounce / Setessan Tactics: Instant speed fight is very tempting.. but see above savage punch
  • Hall of Gemstone: Good against control or multi-colored opponents, but stops you from activating Kamahl in their turn.
