AstroAA,

Amazing work! I started playing magic about 6-7 months ago and have been playing standard but I've wanted to build a commander deck because the format seems like a ton of fun. This deck is pretty cool but I really like all of the explanation you put in this will help me a lot when I build mine. +1 and if I could I would upvote more!

Cool deck! I would play Mirari's Wake over Mana Reflection and maybe consider a few more finishers, but otherwise the list looks good, +1!

skoobysnackz yeah, one of the main problems I've been running into is lack of big impactful creatures to tutor with cards like Fauna Shaman and Survival of the Fittest. As for the choice between the mana doublers, I much prefer Mana Reflection due to it affecting creatures and rocks as well, both of which I run quite alot of in the deck and they go infinite with Paradox Engine quite a bit. Thank you very much!

Maybe consider taking something else out for Mirari's Wake? The +1/+1 effect could possibly help you close out the game without having to find other finishers. If you don't want to go down that road, I would suggest Rampaging Baloths and Avenger of Zendikar as they have some good synergies with Karametra, God of Harvests. Lastly, Woodland Bellower seems like a nice fit in this deck as it can tutor most of your utility creatures directly to the battlefield.

skoobysnackz I am purposely avoiding tutors that put creatures directly onto the battlefield to get the trigger off of our general. That is why I'm not playing Chord of Calling and Green Sun's Zenith. As for the Avenger of Zendikar and Rampaging Baloths, I personally am not a fan of either of them; and in my meta, Avenger is one of those if it resolves, it's immediately answered with a Path to Exile or a Swords to Plowshares. As for my issue of having trouble in the midgame, I've pinpointed it to lack of enchantments that have an immediate presence or do something immediately. I'm testing Regal Force and Greater Good right now, and they are both promising. As for the Mirari's Wake, I'm not doing much swinging with the deck myself, and I'm primarily waiting for a Craterhoof Behemoth or Genesis Wave in order to win, so I don't think the +1/+1 effect will do much. Thank you very much though!

Solem Simulacrum is pretty bad if you can't recur it. Compare it to one of your dorks. It costs on additional 3 mana for one extra power and toughness and it cantrips on death. It's really not all that great.

Am I missing something with Mana Reflection? If it's just here for ramp, you should cut it. You lack big payoff spells for having absurd mana and GW doesn't often get into situations where you're able to draw tons of cards to warrant a ramp package that can power out 20+ mana worth of spells per turn cycle. If you're capable of doing that, wouldn't you be better off actually winning than seeking to double the absurd. Genesis Wave isn't enough to justify the card.

As a blue player, I strongly advise you not to run Prowling Serpopard. It's too easy to deal with and doesn't have enough of a reason to exist. You want to hate on me, run Choke, Null Rod, Spirit of the Labyrinth, and other cheap and game-altering effects.

You really ought to run the tutors talked about above. They're too good to miss.

Land base needs work too. 29 lands is low. Competitive two-color lists in green with ACMCs around 2.3 run 29 lands and those decks run the best and cheapest ramp around. For your deck, that's too few. Lands could also get updates. At least get a Strip Mine.

I get that you likely own this deck, but you should really consider building the best possible deck in the strategy you're advocating when labeling something as a primer. Maybe keep a copy of your real deck private while dropping Cradles and the like into the list.

I don't mean to sound condescending, but when I look at this list, I see tons of small imperfections all around. It's clear you've put a lot of effort into this thing, but it's no where near the power level Karametra could be. I don't think this list should be labeled as a primer until you've put in some real work to improve it or you add in a description into the primer stating that this list isn't meant to be competitive and is tuned to be both good against most common decks while not being overbearing.

I also think Karametra might be better suited to lead a creature-based stax deck, but that would radically alter this deck.

TheDevicer well I've taken what you said to heart, and am working on taking out cards that haven't impressed me and putting some more stax cards such as Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Sphere of Resistance, and Armageddon. I've also bumped the land count up to 30, and am now running Strip Mine, Tectonic Edge, and Ghost Quarter. I'll update the list later. Thank you again for your input!

Wow! Great job on the deck. It's clear that you put a lot of thought into this deck. I'm currently working on a Karametra, God of Harvests deck myself, but it's more of an enchantress deck. Since you're running landfall, why no Retreat to Kazandu, Retreat to Emeria, Emeria Shepherd, or Emeria Angel? It is a bit of a stretch, but you could also add Sandwurm Convergence for general protection, seeing as you only run a handful of flyers.
