Hey JohnnyCRO,
Thanks for the comment, it means a lot to see my deck added to a folder with a bunch of other cool lists. You're right, this deck has warped a lot from its storm origins - I just can't help adding flashy expensive spells - however it currently works quite well and can still go 'off', you just have to play the political game a bit. Be sure to let me know when you finish your list, I'd love to see it!

I do feel you, playing Mizzix is not the same without doing insane and kinda degenerate plays with huge spells. However I feel there should be, and is, a difference between "go big or go home" Mizzix and storm build.
My "go big" Mizzix is already done, but storm version, and Jeleva storm, are being made and I'll be sure to let you know what's going on with them.
BTW - on your little land problem, Prof maybe went a little too far with all dem fetches and such things, don't take that to heart. My personal suggestions;
Cascade Bluffs - relatively expensive, let's hope for a reprint. But the card is cornerstone of what your manabase should be.
Reflecting Pool- a terrible t1 drop, but priceless t3+
Sulfur Falls & Steam Vents - not exactly budget, but mm should give us a reeprint of both and even without it, you can find them or a good price if you try (got both of mine for about 12 euros together)
Shivan Reef might look scary with its pain effect, but it's as close to a original dual as a budget land can get you.
Riptide Laboratory - cut down colorless-producing lands to a minimum, but this is one of the great ones you should have in a deck if any.
I hope this helped!

As a huge Mizzix player myself, I cannot agree enough with Riptide Laboratory. One problem with MIzz is that if she gets killed, the deck starts to slow down to a crawl. With riptide, you can easily circumvent that, or put Mizz back at the normal 4 cmc for an upcoming turn.

Cruise is a must in Mizzix; don't cut it. Ever.
Summonings...are a neat idea, I'll give you points for that one!
WHir can be a blast if you know how and when to abuse it.
I myself am exploring more artifacts in Mizzix. With a well-groomed curve you can easily use mizzix for practically infinite colorless mana. Your artifacts should cover colored mana. My latest experiments with Paradox Engine and manarocks that give colored mana have been most itneresting and I highly recommend you look into that yourself.

I thought about it, but I realized cutting draw spells cuts a lot of consistency, and spending 5 mana on the engine sets me back a turn when I could likely combo out there (assuming I have Mizz out).

I thought I'd be able to cut Cruise without being caught but you got me JohnnyCRO; do you guys have any suggestions what I could take out instead?
I've been after an artifact tutor for a while as Sphinx-Bone Wand is still one of the most efficient ways to end a game in my experience, so even tutoring that up is value.
I recently pulled a Paradox Engine and I've been trying to figure out what deck to put it in; my friend has an Freyalise Elfball deck that it may suit better?

Love this take!
Bonus Round and Aetherflux Reservoir might be considerations.

Hey Demonite,
Thanks for the suggestions, I just picked up a Bonus Round , but my playgroup has house banned Aetherflux Reservoir ! Seems like people don't enjoy fun these days!

Some of my favourite cards in my Mizzix deck are Contentious Plan and Steady Progress . I prefer Stroke of Genius over Blue Sun's Zenith since the colored mana required to cast it really is a hinderance sometimes. Time Stretch is also a pretty easy way to win with Mizzix. But might not be the way how you want to win. And I prefer playing normal basics over all those slow fetches. The deck thinning in a 100 card deck is negligible and you get to play one of my favourite lands Terrain Generator to ramp with lands, which the deck desperatly wants.

This looks pretty solid, but I'm afraid you'd have to remove Paradox Engine, as nowadays: it's just straight up banned. https://magic.wizards.com/en/content/commander-format
I really don't know why it wasn't marked by the system tapped out goes by.

I love it.
The deck itself is far from what I would play as a storm, which I'm currently brewing, but it's very encouraging and inspiring to see a deck built on a relative budget that should work well. Gl with the deck and when and if I ever finish my own storm Mizzix (or Jeleva maybe), I'll be usre to share it.
