I think I'll just make a new category called Threat of Activation because all activated abilities have the potential to be politically threatening. I've chosen to only include "threats" that don't advance your boardstate or constitute a "threat" in and of themselves only so that this list doesn't become so large that I have to remove that category just to keep the list relevant.

I think Angel of Condemnation is a pretty good candidate for a "rattlesnake" type of card.

Thanks so much for compiling this list! Very helpful!

My only major thought is that #6 is questionable as a politics category. In my groups, paranoia is a force to be reckoned with. Making everyone reveal their hands is likely to reveal that they have nothing that's going to win the game in a turn or two. On the other hand, if they can't see what you have suddenly you become the threat, purely because there's a 1 in 100 chance you have some combo in your hand they don't know about.

Martyr's Cause seems pretty political.

Quiet Disrepair is such a fun card, since it can hit (artifact-)creatures and artifacts alike and really serves as a political tool.

Not sure if previously mentions but Rogue's Passage can be quite political, especially when trying to get two opponents to eliminate one another!

High Priest of Penance, several of the dinosaurs, Soul's of the Faultless, Wall of Souls, Wall of Hope, Spitemare, Boros Reckoner, and Mog Fanatic all are amazing "don't tread on me" cards. Illusionist's Gambit and Master Warcraft can also qualify, but can also easily make enemies.

I've made effective vintage decks by combining Blasphemous Act with Mog Fanatic or Hornet's Nest and one ambitious one involving Wall of Souls, Soul's of the Faultless and Saving Grace. It converts an overwhelming defeat into a move that can potentially double your life while killing your opponent using his own creatures. I soon had to add Tainted Remedy and Beacon of Immortality to the deck to force the others to try and kill me before they could find the answers they needed to deal with me. People will be far more wary about attacking you after they see you benefit from the attack or see the first person to attack you instantly lose the game.

Hate cards can be highly political, but also useless if the situation doesn't support them. Same with board-wipe. Blasphemous Act, Living Death and turn ending cards are highly political due to the amount of leverage you bring. Threats, deals, extortion and mild chaos can be useful late game, when you no longer need to look nonthreatening. "Puppet show, the 13th" is a tapped out deck which features several cards fitting that theme, such as Overwhelming Splendor. "Group Slug" is a great list of hate cards.

Oh, and things that help one other person like Trade Secrets, Freed from the Real, Blessed Reincarnation, Words of Wind or can affect the group as you choose like many of the battlebond set.

I don't understand why you think Ludevec is Crummy. He seems like a decent political commander to me.

Wait nvm I see it now. Didn't notice people could hurt themselves to draw a card. That kinda ruins it.

I once promised a player to give him you can't lose the game in a bargain. Then I playd Abyssal Persecutor to deliver that. Such things can be a big deal. Also Thought-Knot Seer lets someone discard a card and can let another play draw a card. pretty good for group 5. Anyway thank you for putting this list together, its really great.

Don't forget about the assist mechanic, either.

Charging Binox, Huddle Up, and some of the other assist cards are good too. Not to mention that when combined with #3 you can more or less hold their best stuff hostage unless they give you a 7/6 with trample.

I won't list/suggest all of them, since some of them aren't great, but you should check them out since they're pretty budget (unless I'm a buffoon and you already have them listed).
