EDH Sydri Storm

Commander / EDH

Rallad

This deck is my take on storm using Sydri, a very interesting and not-so-meta commander. I've always greatly enjoyed the flavor of artifacts and artificers, so while perhaps there are more similar streamlined strategies and commanders- this is the particular style I've wanted to keep for this deck.

This deck aims to win in 6-8 turns and has a few back up plans in store. Note: This version was constructed under a budget, so it was designed for only for a semi-competitive/casual playgroup.

Main win conditions:

The ideal route to victory is simple- play a couple of mana rocks early, tutor and resolve an Ad Nauseum as soon as possible. The mana curve of the deck has been kept as low as possible for this. Storm off and win using Aethflux Reservoir (can be combined with Sydri as a win con as long as you have just over 50 life) or by resolving Tendrils of Agony.

Alternatively Necropotence can be used as either an altervative Ad Nauseum (if you have enough black mana and Thought Vessel/Reliquary Tower) or simply as a plan B if Ad Nauseum is countered/discarded.

Combining Angel's Grace with Ad Nauseum leads to huge draws, even if you have little to no life remaining (and praying that you won't fall target to a stray lightning bolt if you resolve in your opponent's end step.)

Features of the deck:

-There are several egg-type artifacts, all with cheap mana costs which help for storming off, providing some utility or card draw in a pinch.

-A number of mana rocks which help in mana production and mana filtering. Most of them are also cheap and practically pay for themselves while storming (with a mana cost reducer). Very strong when recalling artifacts back to the hand and replaying them with cards like Paradoxial Outcome, Hurky's Recall and Retract.

-Several draw and tutor cards- help find what you need quickly and provide additional draw and storm.

-A few stall cards are included, which in my opinion replace some of the high budget additions which could be added into the deck. These are cheap spells which help buy some time before you find what you need: Planar Collapse, Authority of the Consuls and Baleful Strix.

-Some storm specific cards are auto included such as Rain of Filth, Cabal Ritual, Paradoxial Outcome... including a couple of counters to protect the final pieces of the win conditions.

Note: Lands are not well optimised (and heavily budgeted). I will revised them shortly.

Comments, tips and suggestions are very much welcome- I hope you enjoyed my decklist!
