Sideboard

Griefing at it's finest.Thinking of doing a primer on this.

Card choices:16 sorceries=standard LD suite. This is the cheapest and best LD offered to us in standard.

Instants= Just 4 Jets. It's nice to have a little bit of removal, but more importantly, it's important to scry into more gas. The jets are a major staple and offer a major relief.

Creatures: 4 turn 1 dorks, 4 superior T2 dorks. Playing either will enable a T3 Ember or LD spell. T2 Peak after siding is great, but must be done with the Mystic. Only downside is that this build needs Anger against fast creature decks, so a choice has to be made on when to play dorks or when you don't need them anymore. They also give us an advantage when using Ember Swallower's monstrous.

Basic lands in sideboard to replace Encroaching Wastes against monocolored decks.

If you can get the monstrosity off against 3 lands, you pretty much win. That's 3 turns of guaranteed damage, winning in 2 turns if they've shocked in lands or Thoughtseized.

Updates Add

It's back! Updated for the new RTR-THS standard. Took this exact build to FNM yesterday and top 4'd. We split the pot, went 4-1.

Game 1: White Auras

Didn't expect this to go so badly. Drew too many lands to start with, and even though I drew into a castable Sylvan Primordial, it was too late, the creature spam was too much to deal with.

Sideboarding: -3 Magma Jet, -1 Survey the Wreckage, -1 Demolish, -1 Sylvan Primordial -4 Encroaching Wastes

+3 Anger of the Gods, +3 Destructive Revelry +2 Mountain +2 Forest

Why: I always swap Angers in over Jets against fast creature decks. It's more important to wipe 3-4 creatures than it is to scry 2. This deck can't deal with having low life on turn 5. Resolving an Ember Swallower or Primordial doesn't always mean you win, you still only block 1 creature. Revelry was more important here than the land destruction, and I didn't want to draw an extra Primordial when I need an early game card. The Encroaching Wastes thing is something I do against all mono colored decks. They're useless so I just grab some better lands for security.

Result: Win. Never saw my Destructive Revelry, but I drew an Anger so I was able to wipe 3 creatures with an Ember up. Locked him out of lands and won.

Game 3: Loss. I got the perfect hand except for a Revelry. Anger, dorks, LD, etc. He had a turn 1 Hopeful Eidolon and had 2 Ethereal Armor and a Gift of Orzhov on it by turn 3, a 7/7. GG.

Round 2: Red Deck W/ green splash for Domri.

Started out normal against a red aggro deck, Madcap, BTE, etc. Jet got the Madcapped guy, destroyed some lands, resolved a big dude or two, but my life was already spent from the multiple 2/2's early game that I couldn't block enough dudes.

Siding: Same for White Auras, except I did Peak Eruption over Revelry, and dropped an extra LD card. I usually swap 1 of each sorcery for an Eruption because it's more efficient against any deck containing red.

Results: Won. Saw everything I sided in, though I couldn't tell which basic lands were which, heh. Got the timely Anger, turn 2 Peak, and rode out the land destruction and big dudes to victory. I made a misplay, instead of locking him out with the monstrosity on Ember Swallower, I played a Primordial. Reason being, all he had was a Boros Reckoner, I wanted to block it and kill it with Ember because I was at 6 life. I could make sure he couldn't burn me afterwards, though the better move was to sac 3 lands each and chump with the mana dorks I had to avoid reckoner damage. If he did attack, he would've been met with 18 damage anyway, but I hadn't thought of this for whatever reason. So on his turn, he played Domri Rade, forgot about the Pit Fight ability, swung with Reckoner, I blocked with Ember, and won by lockdown.

Game 3: Despite going second, I had a perfect hand, dorks, anger, lands, LD, etc. Had a perfect lockdown and won.

Round 3: Counterburn (U/R) Won.

I was worried about a fast tempo deck that could counter my LD, but I could play faster with his Steam Ventsfoil coming in tapped and him having to tap-out early game for win-cons. Young Pyromancer, Guttersnipe, and Spellheart Chimera.

Siding: Peak Eruption

Results: Won. Same as the first game.

Round 3: Grixis Control. Won.

About the same as Counterburn really, but he played less cards. Lockdown on both games, same sideboarding too, except I sided out 4 Surveys because the goblin blocker wasn't important.

Round 4: U/W control. Won

Was happy to play a top tier deck to test against. Playing on Cockatrice I knew I wouldn't have a problem, but that's just those guys, I know this guy was a pretty good player. Game 1 started out good, but I plateau'd at lands, destroying one every other turn. He caught back up with an AEtherling and Elspeth, Sun's Champion.

Siding: None. Nothing would be better against this deck.

Results: Won. I played first game 1, but this game was better. Draws were better and all. Resolved a T3 Ember Swallower, T4 Frenzied Tilling, and got the monstrosity for game. A t3 threat like Ember puts a lot of pressure on control decks. They know that if they can't get rid of it, they'll lose, and they can't depend on me attacking with it to Charm it. So he starts drawing cards to look for answers, which taps him out, setting me up for the next turns to win.

Game 3: Was afraid that I couldn't get it going second, and he managed to counter my T3 Bramblecrush, but my next turns were unstoppable. He was sitting on 1 blue land and Mutavaults, got the blue land, got another land with tilling, lead into T5 primordial, he D-sphered it, Bramblecrush got the D-Sphere, triggered him again, got the Ember Swallower for game.

Very happy with how it went and had a lot of fun, at their expense.
