I play an equipment deck in modern and Auriok Steelshaper really does wonders if you have him out...

she gives your commander and any other creatures plus 2 plus 2 while making all of your opponents creatures that much smaller on top of killing every small token instantly as ohthenoises has pointed out, and a sweeper in this deck as long as at least Darksteel Plate and preferably Darksteel Forge is on the battlefield i run multiple sweepers in my deck just to help rid the board of any pains in the ass

I don't believe Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite is a good fit for this deck. Elesh is better in decks that can take advantage of the +2/+2 pump, such as token decks.
Auriok Steelshaper is too weak. Shaving 1 mana off of equip costs isn't worth devoting an entire slot for.

If you try to keep your commander out, cards that can help with removal spells (note not counter spells) are cards like Hyena Umbra and even Spirit Mantle

The problem with enchantments Asher18 is protection from W. Enchantments will fall off.
March 23, 2014 12:31 a.m.
will they fall off if he gains protection from white with them already attached? I don't understand, can I see a ruling?
March 23, 2014 11:04 a.m.
Yes they will fall off, something with protection from a colour cannot have permanents of that colour attached to it.
"702.16c A permanent or player with protection cant be enchanted by Auras that have the stated quality. Such Auras attached to the permanent or player with protection will be put into their owners graveyards as a state-based action."
March 23, 2014 12:35 p.m.
Thanks for that, It must have been a pain going up to rule 702.16c. Anyway, since your ddeck has a few humans in it, Might I suggest Angel of Glory's Rise ?

Angel of Glory's Rise isn't that great. Exiling Zombies is extremely narrow removal and I only have 7 Humans in the deck, most of which are small utility creatures. Not worth it.

It wasn't hard, I just googled "comprehensive rules protection", went to the MTGS wiki page and crtl+F'd "aura". Literally anyone could have done that.

@JonatanAce: You know the whole Nine-Tailed-Fox thing isn't from Naruto right? It's an actual Japanese myth.

Here are a couple of card drawing possibilities Bottled Cloister , Diviner's Wand , Memory Jar , Mask of Memory , Teferi's Puzzle Box , Bargaining Table . You may also want to go the other direction and play with Spirit of the Labyrinth

I'm not interested in adding card draw engines. In fact, I just recently cut one.
Spirit of the Labyrinth is no good for this deck. White's is the worst colour at card draw and I don't want my remaining draw engines becoming nerfed.

You could also put in Akroma's Memorial . While 7 mana might seem like much, Eight-and-a-Half-Tails 's ability can only be stretched so far, and you wouldn't want your equipment tutors being killed off by Dreadbore or Doom Blade , would ya? Plus, adding in the first strike and trample ability would allow your commander to still swing through for commander damage. And the best part, it makes the artifact a target, making your opponents waste time removing it, allowing you ample time to come in for that devastating surprise attack.
Also, having Silent Arbiter + Sublime Archangel could allow your commander to swing for lethal earlier than normally expected. But I just really like Exalted. It's kind of impractical, but funny to put out your opponent on turn 5 in a commander game. XD

Akroma's Memorial is not a good fit for this deck. The handful of keywords it provides do nothing for increasing Eight-and-a-Half-Tails ' clock nor does it give him any significant advantage he didn't already have.
No interest in Silent Arbiter . I'd rather use Windborn Muse .
Sublime Archangel was in this deck when Kemba, Kha Regent was the Commander. I eventually took Sublime out because I felt it was win-more. With Eight-and-a-Half-Tails now at the helm, Sublime is less usable.

Seems silly to suggest that when he has Land Tax in the deck already.

Gift of Estates isn't that great in comparison to Land Tax and Weathered Wayfarer .
April 15, 2014 10:11 p.m.
it's still good. it gives you another 'less lands' type card.
Redundancy. It's a Good Thing.
April 15, 2014 10:23 p.m.
I understand. Sorry for the bad suggestions. I'm not a great player.

I wouldn't be so quick to jump on Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite being terrible Skyfolk, She passively kills almost every token strategy there is.
No more Squirrel Nest + Earthcraft type combos for anyone.
