I have some issues with card draw. Mainly because all of my card draw options have drawbacks.
*Sword of Fire and Ice needs a creature to swing with it.
*Mikokoro, Center of the Sea eats up my mana.
*Land Tax & Scroll Rack both need to be on the battlefield and I need to have less land than an opponent.
*Trading Post needs to eat an artifact.
For that reason, I'm adding Staff of Nin. I tried it out in a few games the other day and it worked very well.

Just a heads up, Blind Obedienceis in your maybeboard. The hybrid mana makes it illegal for your deck.
February 27, 2013 11:54 a.m.
You're wrong, Hobes. Mana symbols in reminder text have no bearing on colour identity.

Staff of Nin is solid, and with mana doublers it shouldn't be a problem. Mono-white is hard to get card draw in. I did find some success with Seer's Sundial, although its fairly mana intensive as well. Have you thought about using Mind's Eye? Or does that also eat too much mana for you?

As stated by the Commander Rules Committee, mana symbols in reminder text doesn't count towards Colour Identity.

I'm sticking with Staff of Nin. Mind's Eye needs mana open to use and sometimes I tap out or need mana open for Kor Haven. Staff also has the benefit of killing X/1s, Phantasmal Image, and keeps Planeswalkers' loyalty down.

You are right. I didn't realize it was reminder text. Sorry.

Have you? In paper or online?
I have this deck posed on other MTG sites. Someone could of netdecked it.

Also Kemba tends to be pretty cookie-cutter. I was up against a Kemba deck that was very similar, bar a couple cards.
March 1, 2013 9:52 a.m.
Played in paper in a multiplayer setting. It got the first kill, but was smashed immediately following by the other players.

Last time I went against this deck I beat his face in with tokens for hitting me for 8 with Kemba. I think the weakness of this deck is how hard it is to come back after the board gets wrath'd a few times.

It's not hard to make a comeback. As long as I still have Equipment on the field, all I need is one creature.
Also, I was at 20 life with no creatures and you had a 17/17 Geist-Honored Monk with Lightning Greaves. Hard to win in that situation.

There are so many things though that wipe artifacts you can't count on having them all the time. Most mass wipes are cmc 4-5 too so it's not like they are hard to cast. At least in R/W/G there's tons of destroy all artifact stuff. Seeing as how those are fairly common colors in EDH, at least R/W, I wouldn't count to much on not seeing a board wide artifact, creature, enchant, or combination wipe at least once a game.

That's why I run recursion. My Equipment will always be a target.

A couple wipes is never a big deal, but I'm pretty sure in that game alone he saw 1 Austere Command and 2 Martial Coup lol

I'd suggest Spirit Mantle, Holy Mantle and/or Whispersilk Cloak to make Kemba unblockable!

I'm not running Auras in Kemba. I don't run nor have the space for the proper cards to support their use and Auras don't mix well with the Swords.
I don't use Whispersilk Cloak because is gives shroud. Shroud is a pain to work around. I would love a hexproof version of it.

great looking deck....Spirit Mantle would be great in here! and possibly Concerted Effort to help all your creatures get doublestrike etc

I already mentioned why I'm not running Auras. Spirit Mantle is great and all, but Sword of Light and Shadow and Sword of War and Peace makes it fall off... Auras and Swords don't mix.
No interest in Concerted Effort. I don't always have a huge army of creatures to swing with and I'm already running True Conviction for mass double strike.
I also want to keep my enchantment count low as the "Destroy all enchantments" mode for Austere Command is my safe mode to use if I want to kill specific creatures.
March 5, 2013 10:09 a.m.
NensouHiebara I'm sorry, I was not aware that the swords give Protection from white (making the Mantles useless).
I still would suggest for you to give Whispersilk Cloak a shot. The shroud thing may be antisynesgist with equipping, but if you have Puresteel Paladin you can turn around it.
But anyway, I found other two equipments that give evasion, what do you think? Executioner's Hood is okay, and Vorrac Battlehorns is cool. I hope I've helped this time!

I had Whispersilk Cloak in the deck before. Shroud is too finicky to work with.
Executioner's Hood and Vorrac Battlehorns aren't the kind of Equipment I want to be running. Every Equipment has to matter.
Hood is bad. It doesn't do enough and intimidate is easiest form of evasion to disrupt.
Battlehorns has nice evasion, but again, doesn't do enough.

I know your claiming this to be a Voltron (btw love Voltron and not at all hating)deck so you want to stick with whole big beefy-ass humanoid cat theme, but let's face it elephants are bigger and stronger than lions. This is why I'm going to suggest Loxodon Punisher. With every equipment on it, get +2/+2 that means in addition to the +19 you get from all you equipment, you get an additional +32 in power (I counted that you have about 16 equipment). In addition you can use Golem-Skin Gauntlets for an extra +16 to power, though you have stated that it's not enough pump up. But it does activate Loxodon Punisher's ability giving it +2/+2 more. In addition I don't see anyone mentioning Cranial Plating, very cheap, low equipment cost and increasing power dependent on how many artifacts you have out. Lets assume you have most of your artifacts out that +33 in power. I would also reconsider using Grappling Hook and Leonin Shikari these to paired with Puresteel Paladin and Kusari-Gama give you a pretty good creature destruction combo because you force a block especially when you have a creature/instant/. And not to mention if you have lifelink when that happens you have a crap ton of life coming your way. With Leonin Shikari paired with Puresteel Paladin right before your turn comes up you can instantly equip everything to Kemba, Kha Regent to get your chump tokens then instant equip back to Loxodon Punisher. That is if your not going for a commander swing.

Forgot to mention you should probably look for stuff like Expedition Map to get your Rogue's Passage faster for that unblockable swing
March 7, 2013 5:13 p.m.
Just a note, jankietankie: Cranial Plating cannot be played in this deck as it haves an ability that costs black mana, thus making it only allowed in EDH decks that have a commander with black in his color(s)
NensouHiebara says... #1
I've used Leonin Shikari before. I wasn't doing anything useful. I didn't like it. I took it out. Instant-speed equipping has narrow uses when only one creature should be holding the Equipment.
Mirran Crusader is a great card, but Silverblade Paladin is a better fit for my deck and I don't have the space nor the interest to run both.
Sword of Body and Mind is purposely excluded for one reason: Mill is bad in Commander. It fuels the reanimator players, it gets hosed by the Eldrazi Titans, and requires extensive resources in order to mill out multiple opponents with 99-card libraries. The only way to make mill work is to build your entire around it. There are The Mimeoplasm players and other graveyard/reanimator decks in my meta. I'm not giving them free advantage.
Darksteel Forge is too expensive. 9 mana can be a pain to get to and it doesn't stop exile, tuck, or bounce. Mycosynth Lattice is a massive do-nothing that makes artifact sweepers absolutely stupid, especially since the Red decks in my meta are running Vandalblast . card:Nevinyrral's Disk can destroy my Equipment. Not running it. Also, I can't effectively tutor for these cards... Keep them in Arcum Dagsson decks.
Worldslayer is bad. It needs too much set-up to work and is just a mean griefer card.
