A question.
I have a few issues with my group and super powered commanders. Would Godsend combined with Grappling Hook allow me to pull enemy commanders in and exile them, thus stopping them from being recast for the entire game?
Will put it to a judge on tumbler later but it could swing my thoughts on Godsend and including it in my own version of the deck.

@SpyrechildIn EDH you can choose to put your commander back into the command zone instead of back into your hand, graveyard, library, or exile. This would incur a penalty of 2 colorless mana for every time it's removed from the battlefield and recast from the command zone.
ex: I play my commander, player 2 exiles it, I choose to put it in my command zone instead of exile, next time I cast my commander it's going to cost me it's CMC+2 colorless.

@HerrDunk This I know. The question is that if you force the enemy commander to block your creature while Godsend is equipped, via Grappling Hook or a similar effect, will Godsends effect prevent them from recasting their commander?
Godsend wording is "Opponents can't cast cards with the same name as cards exiled with Godsend." My understanding of the commander rules Vs exiling is that as they are exiled you chose if your commander remains in exile or is returned to the commander zone implying that they are first exiled.

From what I understand:
- Returning a Commander to the command zone if it were to be exiled is a replacement effect, and it would never be exiled at all. Since their Commander is never in exile, Godsend's ability has nothing to go by. Definitely ask a judge.
You could always use Nevermore and/or Voidstone Gargoyle to prevent problematic Commanders from being cast.

@NensouHiebara You are correct. Since the commander never actually goes to exile, it doesn't get affected by Godsend. That being said, if someone else also had the same card as someone's commander in their 99 and you exiled it, then you could stop them from casting their commander.

I have a voltron TL deck, and Golem-Skin Gauntlets never feels like a dead draw, even if it's the first equipment.

Hello do you think the ramp from Sword of the Animist could be relevant ?

Golem-Skin Gauntlets is terrible. It's near useless without a lot of other Equipment and I have no need for a vanilla +X/+0 boost that requires me to horribly overextend.

I looked through and read every comment on this deck, loved the idea behind it, but I was wondering if you wouldnt mind looking at and helping critique my Nahiri deck? My deck:
Knights of the Old Code. Playtest
Commander / EDH
SCORE: 1 | 0 COMMENTS | 429 VIEWS
I just love the flavor and the story behind Nahiri, I've always loved "swords", "knights", "warriors", basically the old combat of valor and I want my deck to really reflect that. I myself am not going for voltron but I want to be able to react to any threat and be able to punch through for a win. I havent updated it recently but with the release of origins I am soon. Thank you for your time and I would love to play the two decks agaisnt each other one day HAHA. (I upvoted and rated your deck too)

Not a fan of Etched Champion in this deck. It's too much of a distraction and doesn't do anything on its own. If I need another creature to hold Equipment, I'd rather have one of my larger threats than some do-nothing 2/2.

The other day, my friend cast Eldrazi Conscription on 8.5 tails. He already had 4 swords, a scythe with 8 plains, a hammer, and shrieking fire scepter, and a silver armor on. I killed him last, but I hit everyone with at least 74 commander damage every turn...

I only looked at the list for 2 minutes, so sorry if these sugg. suck.
Ranger of Eos- Grabs a Serra Ascendant + something else like mother. Not bad imo.
Brimaz, King of Oreskos/Hero of Bladehold- Both make blockers, and both make decent equip targets. Brimaz is better imo.
I don't know if you want to keep the board wipes you already have, but Divine Reckoning and Phyrexian Rebirth both let you either keep a creature with all of it's equipments still equiped, or give you a whole new creature to continue to attack with. And reckoning has flashback...

Ranger of Eos has been in my Maybeboard for the past while and I'm going to drop him from it. The more I think about using him, the more I think of the fact that I can't use up so many creature spots just to make him work.
Brimaz, King of Oreskos and Hero of Bladehold are token cards. This deck doesn't do token aggro.
Divine Reckoning gave me problems a while back. It doesn't stop players that have generally powerful creatures, as they will save their best from being destroyed. It's also terrible against other Voltron decks.
I used Phyrexian Rebirth before. It's OK. Don't have any interest in using it again.

Seeing Windborn Muse and Ghostly Prison in the decklist, what do you think of Archangel of Tithes?

What is the reasoning for Heliod, God of the Sun? The token ability is irrelevant, you have stated many times that this is not a token deck. 4 mana for a 5/6 indestructible could be fun with equipment, though shut off quickly. Mass vigilance works best when there are a lot of creatures. Most things from your maybeboard seem like a better fit (Sword of the Animist).

I don't really like Archangel of Tithes much for this deck. Its taxing ability is weaker than the other options and its attack trigger isn't that great when you only have 1-2 attackers at most.
Heliod, God of the Sun was a rough addition to begin with. The reasoning behind his inclusion was that he's an indestructible source of vigilance and creatures, so that I'm never left without anything to hold Equipment. This deck has been getting almost nothing to work with since RTR Block and I try to add something from each block to at least experiment with.
He hasn't been doing much lately and is getting cut for Relic Seeker.

have you thought about combo-ing Strionic Resonator and Illusionist's Bracers with Stonehewer Giant? it enables you to search out 4 equipments per turn.

Actually, pro white won't make auras fall off. It'll just prevent you from enchanting with them until the protection falls off.

@Izikiel It will. I'm too lazy to find the specific rule, so instead have a clicky that has someone asking the same question on tappedout

I'll do some digging into the rules to find out for sure.

Strionic Resonator is better in decks that can guarantee triggered abilities, such as Blink strategies.
Illusionist's Bracers doesn't benefit the deck enough to use.
I'm not adding narrow cards just to boost one creature I don't have access to every game.
Comp. Rule 702.16c - A permanent or player with protection cant be enchanted by Auras that have the stated quality. Such Auras attached to the permanent or player with protection will be put into their owners graveyards as a state-based action.

Hi NensouHiebara, now that Heliod and Trading Post have been taken out, which cards are the weakest cards in the deck (and candidates for replacement)?

@HerrDunk
I like the idea of tutorable, repeatable land ramp. I'll definitely test it.
