@NensouHeibara Are there any cards in SOI that you're excited for?

Open the Armory is the only card in Shadows over Innistrad that I have any interest in. Cheap, efficient tutors are always welcome.
None of the Equipment or any of the other White cards offer anything I want.

I kinda figured, it will be great to have another tutor in white though

How have you liked Sword of the Animist, NensouHiebara? I'm brewing up a voltron deck for Kaseto, Orochi Archmage and I think I need some suggestions / help. It's unfortunate but I have to work around not being able to use my Sword of Fire and Ice and Sword of Feast and Famine from his ability so I'm looking for other equipment and things like Rancor or Berserk to pump him up. It's definitely not going to be snake tribal but i'm thinking of adding a few like Lotus Cobra, Sakura-Tribe Elder and Sakura-Tribe Scout and I'm also thinking of fielding around 10 - 12 infect cards including Blight Mamba, Glistener Elf, Inkmoth Nexus, and Grafted Exoskeleton. Do you think infect is too "cheesy" or unfair to have in this deck, I like it here since he can make them unblockable.

Sword of the Animist has been great. The easily tutorable ramp engine is one of the best Equipment printed since New Phyrexia.
Don't use infect cards. Infect is a massive annoyance and will end up diverting your deck into attempting poison kills as fast as possible.

Avacyn, Guardian Angel is pretty terrible.
- Colour-specific damage prevention is extremely narrow and is outclassed by indestructible and protection.
- She can't target herself.
- Her second ability is severely overcosted. No deck outside of ramp strategies or ones running a several mana doublers is going to reliably have 7 mana open every turn.
- Her abilities can be bypassed by colourless creatures and multicolored decks running creatures of different colours.
- Baneslayer Angel is a much better creature for the same 5 mana, and I don't even run it.

If Kazuul's Toll Collector were white, would you run it?

NensouHiebara says... #10
I wouldn't run Kazuul's Toll Collector if it was White. It's a 3/2 with no utility that wants to hog Equipment from other creatures that can hold them better.

Ranger of Eos seems like a natural fit in with Serra Ascendant, Mother of Runes, and Weathered Wayfarer.

I don't run enough 1-drop creatures. Adding more while including Ranger of Eos takes up too many slots in the deck. I tried to find space before, but it felt like I was forcing it in instead of it being a natural include.

What are your thoughts on Armageddon, the Ravages of War, or Catastrophe. Cataclysm exists as well but the latter could abuse indestructibility more. Other fun board wipes are Planar Collapse which only should take one round in multiplayer and False Prophet if you need another way to exile an Ulamog. Sunscour reminds me of Force of Will and could be good as well. Have you ever tried out an Eldrazi Monument in this deck?

Armageddon, Ravages of War, Catastrophe - I'm not a fan of mass land destruction. Unless the one casting a mass land destruction spell is in a victorious position, the game is ruined. Nobody wants to contimue a game that is now slowed to a grinding halt because someone popped everyone's lands without setting up a win. I've used mass land destruction before. They either rotted in my hand waiting to be cast at the right time or were completely dead when I was behind.
Cataclysm - Used it before. You need to have the best of each permanent to get ahead. Otherwise, you're shooting yourself in the foot. It also has the issue of never removing the permanents that are causing the most grief.
Planar Collapse - Doesn't purge the board when I want to and opponents can pop it early with tokens or strait-up enchantment removal.
False Prophet - Horrible in Voltron. I can't do anything when it's out as an opponent can simply hit Prophet with a kill spell and exile whatever I'm suiting up. Also doesn't purge the board when I want to and can be circumvented with exiling or tuck removal.
Sunscour - Terrible card. I'm either overpaying or shredding my hand apart for a Day of Judgment.
Eldrazi Monument - This is a card for token decks, not Voltron. This deck can't use anthems very well and doesn't have enough token producers for sacrifice fodder.

Ah I agree with most of that, I had a similar deck brew in mind but it would probably have Nahiri, the Lithomancer in charge and focus less on creatures. Have you tried her out as the commander of this deck before? I think in a deck that rely's more on a planeswalker ability and less on creatures could abuse Humility and other hard creature hate quite well. Ever thought of running Revoke Existence as another way to kill artifacts or enchantments. A lot of my decks field cards like Stony Silence, Null Rod, Cursed Totem, Damping Matrix or Linvala, Keeper of Silence and plenty of ways to make them indestructible with, Darksteel Plate, Guardian Beast, Darksteel Forge, Avacyn, Angel of Hope, etc, and things that exile them hurt me really badly.

Nahiri, the Lithomancer - Never once considered her to be my Commander. This deck will always be Voltron.
Revoke Existence - Not interested in it. Three of my spot removal spells exile/tuck artifacts and enchantments. There are other options I'd rather use instead.
Aura of Silence - Used it before. It's alright. Probably use it again someday if I ever feel the need for it.

I have absolutely no intention of using certain cards. The Notable Exclusions list is set up so I don't have those cards repeatedly suggested.
And next time you post, drop the hostility. I don't appreciate it and it isn't necessary.
Fetchlands have very little utility in mono-colored decks.
- The main use of Fetchlands is colour-fixing, but this deck is only one colour.
- Since colour-fixing is unneeded, Fetchlands would occupy slots that are better used for utility lands.
- Deckthinning with Fetchlands is extremely negligible, even in 60-card decks.

It would be more justifiable if he could combo them with Crucible of Worlds I think but that's not really a voltron thing.

They can sometimes be useful with Scroll Rack.
The real kicker is that he is running Emeria, The Sky Ruin. Running fetches would decrease the number of Plains

Hey! I used to play Nahiri and switched to 8-and-a-half tails, but have since moved on to other decks and strategies. My recommendation is to take out Godsend in favor of the raw power of Hero's Blade. also Rest in Peace seams like a nombo, perhaps instead you could run the amazing removal spell Council's Judgment which can potentially exile any non-land permanent, get's around hexproof/shroud/indestructability/sacrificelessness/protection. other fun suggestions Restore Balance and Worship. both seem to potentially be great in the deck
NensouHiebara says... #1
@lemmingllama
Faith's Fetters isn't the kind of removal I enjoy. If I need to deal with something, I want it off the battlefield.
Council's Judgment is garbage in multiplayer. The cards that it exiles are ultimately your opponents' decisions, and they will more often than not conspire against you.
