Have you found that Steelshaper Apprentice has been doing enough for you? I originally had it in the first Kemba build I had but found that every time I had it, the lack of haste and sink of 5 mana over 2 turns to get an equipment from library into hand was too slow. Just curious as to your experiences with it.

@CrimsonWings3689

I'm actually thinking of dropping Steelshaper Apprentice . My creature base needs an aggressive boost.

I've dropped Loxodon Gatekeeper for Wurmcoil Engine and I'm currently trying out Transcendent Master in place of Apprentice.

Etched Champion is about as aggressive as you can get and it makes for an amazing equip target when Kemba isn't an option.

And in place of Transcendent Master I'd consider Mirran Crusader in it's place as it's already got double strike and protection from 2 colors, where anything else just makes him more of a threat. I just think that T.Master is too much of a mana sink and takes too much work to make worthwhile since he needs 9 mana (admittedly over a number of turns) invested to make him decent.

@CrimsonWings3689

I'm going to stick with Transcendent Master . To me, a huge body with lifelink is more usable than 2/2s that require Equipment to become a threat.

I like this deck. Each card seems to flow extremely well with the next. +1 from me. Good work NensouHiebara.

I really like this deck and I can think of some cards that could really help it along:

I'd add:Renounce the Guilds Baneslayer Angel Sword of Vengeance O-Naginata Mass Calcify Wrath of God Mox Opal Crovax, Ascendant Hero Moonsilver Spear Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite Entreat the Angels Eight-and-a-Half-Tails Expedition Map

I'd remove:Eternal Dragon - too weak for a 7 drop and while the plainscycling is nice, it's not worth it.Fireshrieker - you may as well just run True Conviction considering Fireshrieker costs almost as much and is much worse. I realise you can tutor Fireshrieker but even so.

If you have any suggestions for my Angels and Foxes edh deck, that'd be great!

@Izzet

Renounce the Guilds : Not using it. Most of the time, it will either kill a Commander or be completely dead.

Baneslayer Angel : I'm already adding Wurmcoil Engine and Transcendent Master . Might use it instead of Transcendent Master .

Sword of Vengeance : Using it in place of Sword of War and Peace and I'm loving the swap.

O-Naginata : Not interested. Less efficient than the Equipment I'm already running.

Mass Calcify : Not running it. Too much White in my meta and there are better sweepers at 7 mana.

Wrath of God : Not of fan of it and Day of Judgment as there are stronger sweepers available.

Mox Opal : Not sure if I want to use up a slot for it...

Crovax, Ascendant Hero : Nope. This isn't a token deck. This deck doesn't rush with an army.

Moonsilver Spear : Tried it before. It's good, but not offering pump hurts it's usefulness in Voltron.

Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite : Same as Crovax. This is not a token deck.

Entreat the Angels . Not sure. Could be a nice back-up plan.

Eight-and-a-Half-Tails : Was in the deck before. Completely on the fence on re-adding him. He's extremely useful, but required mana to be open at all times.

Expedition Map : Was in the deck before, but was dropped for space. Not sure about re-adding it.

Eternal Dragon : Plainscycling is what makes it good. It's also more useful than you think.

-Can help me hit my land drops with Sword of Light and Shadow .

-It's a shuffle effect. Great for refreshing the top of my library for Scroll Rack and Sensei's Divining Top .

-It's still a high-power flier and can hold Equipment.

-It recurs itself, giving me options after a sweeper.

Fireshrieker vs. True Conviction : I just took True Conviction out a few months ago and was happy with the drop. This deck doesn't produce an army and my deck can't recur it if destroyed. Fireshrieker is easier to tutor, easier to recur, and is more synergistic with the deck.

A few more things I thought of:Vedalken Orrery - An autoinclude in pretty much any deck.Eiganjo Castle - Replaces a plains and can come in useful.Cavern of Souls - won't always come handy but can really help against decks packing lots of counters.

@Izzet

I have no interested in using Vedalken Orrery for now. I have a handful of other cards to consider first.

Eiganjo Castle 's ability is too narrow. Targeting legendary creatures only is a huge strike against it.

Thankfully, my meta doesn't have counterspell heavy decks, but if that ever changes Cavern of Souls will be considered.

Kemba was the commander of the first deck I made. I can't say it turned out well.. It morphed into my Jor Kadeen deck.

Something I thought of while looking yours over. You give one creature really nice abilities.. why not all of them? Concerted Effort

Feel free to check my decks out : )

NensouHiebara says... #11

@Kasimac

This deck doesn't use an army. Kemba's tokens are mainly used as a wall of creatures to block out attackers. Without Kemba out, I don't even come close to having any form of board presence beyond a single, well equipped creature.

Concerted Effort doesn't function well in my deck.

May 11, 2013 7:55 p.m.

perhaps Raksha Golden Cub ? with that many tokes it could be amazing

@Hungrybadger123123123

As stated in the description, this isn't a token deck. I don't focus on tokens. In fact, Kemba usually doesn't even leave the Command Zone unless I have a way to protect her.

Raksha Golden Cub was in the deck before and was inevitably dropped when I stopped using tokens and made the deck completely focused on Voltron.

Nice deck! I run an edh voltron deck that's very similar to this (right here). I would try out Indomitable Archangel , Hanna's Custody , Etched Champion , and Dispatch . More removal's always good, and artifact hate can become a big problem for you.

May 15, 2013 3:10 p.m.

NensouHiebara says... #15

@Krayhaft

Indomitable Archangel was in the deck before and was replaced with Fountain Watch , as Fountain Watch doesn't require metalcraft, protects enchantments, and is recurrble with Reveillark .

Hanna's Custody is universal. Giving shroud to my opponents' artifacts stifles my spot removal.

Etched Champion doesn't do anything and is overdependent on Equipment.

Dispatch was in the deck before and was dropped for space.

May 15, 2013 5:34 p.m.

Krayhaft says... #16

I really like Etched Champion because most likely, metalcraft will always be active, which makes him unblockable most of the time.

How do you feel about stuff like Brass Squire and Leonin Shikari , for equipping as combat tricks? Sticking a sword on a blocking cat token might work out really well.

May 15, 2013 6:38 p.m.

NensouHiebara says... #17

@Krayhaft

Had them both in deck before too.

Brass Squire , and it's older friend Auriok Windwalker , were too slow and cumbersome. Leonin Shikari was dropped as instant-speed equipping wasn't useful for me.

I don't jump Equipment around. They all mostly stay on one creature.

@AzrielBarakiel

Crawlspace does nothing to halt Voltron or any other single large attacker, which my meta has a lot of.

Indomitable Archangel was just suggested to me. It's not in the deck because Fountain Watch is a better fit and I don't have room for it.

May 18, 2013 9:06 a.m.

Blakkhand says... #20

Leonin Abunas outclasses both Indomitable Archangel and Fountain Watch . To bad you can't run Guardian Beast .

May 22, 2013 2:13 p.m.

NensouHiebara says... #21

@Blakkhand

I'm already running Leonin Abunas . Please read the deck list before posting suggestions.

May 22, 2013 3:05 p.m.

Skyfolk says... #22

You are aware Abunas is in the deck already, right?

May 22, 2013 3:05 p.m.

Blakkhand says... #23

Sorry. Wasn't paying attention and skipped over it.

May 22, 2013 3:10 p.m.

Exalted Archangel puts utilities to the tokens you create while voltroning kemba still.

May 22, 2013 6:53 p.m.

Also it seems that if you need another board wipe that will end up favoring you, Scourglass might work for you, I mean it does almost the same thing as All Is Dust , except you could repeat it a lot easier in this deck if you wanted.
