FYI/BIO

I recently got back to playing EDH and deck building. Nowadays, my two-fold EDH deck building philosophy consists of 1) mixing up and welding together several archetypes, and 2) coming up with a story or a thematic underlining for the build.

This deck

Rocco, aka. El Chefe, is back at it! Amidst the rebuild after the Phyrexian invasion, Rocco is out on the streets serving food to their regulars and new customers from all over the multiverse. Thanks in large part to the new Omenpaths, Rocco is now able to expand their food empire and earn unimaginable riches from various plains whilst stuffing everyone's bellies!

New feature

With Rocco, the El Chefe of the food scene, I wanted to experiment with a new feature: Expansions. This deck has such a fun theme, I conjured sub-stories for it. They come in the form exchangeable blocks, which can be subbed into the main deck to vary the playing experience.

The Wandering Adventurer: One day, Rocco discovers an Omenpath that leads them to a world full of wonders and adventure. As per usual, Rocco begins to feed the beasts, druids, and fellow elves of this mysterious plane, only to end up in the middle of a plane-wide food fight. However, the trip was not a total waste since they return with a shining new pot to brew stew on.

The BFF Treasure Hunt: Rocco's fascination towards all things dinosaur is well known throughout the multiverse and amongst his associates. One day his most loyal customer, Quintorius, proposes that Rocco joins their crew of misfits in their home Plane of Ixalan. Rocco is intrigued by the opportunity to explore the dinosaur infested plane. Rocco and the others form an instant bond. After spending a long evening of feasting together, they decide to go on a treasure hunt and head down to the plane's hollow core. There they find the biggest load of treasure anyone has ever seen on Ixalan. Before claiming it to themselves, the misfits are ambushed by fearsome dinosaurs. A wild battle ensues, which Rocco and the rest of the crew barely escape with their lives. In the end, the treasure was lost, but everlasting friendships were formed.

SUS: _Everybody is a suspect in this amateur detective's eyes! Upon traveling to Ravnica, Rocco discovers that hardly anyone has time to eat as they are too busy playing detectives. Rocco joins a Boros detective agency and is assigned to their longest running open case; will they be the ones to solve the seemingly unsolvable case? And how many suspects will be falsely accused before they do? One thing is for certain, Rocco will have nightmares of their encounter with the Mole-God for years to come. _
