i like elementals as much as the next guy, but i do get concerned when i see how many of you're guys just die in the end of the turn.... it's going to be very hard to use your nova chaser on anything, so if you are looking for a quik deck with lot of hard hitters tht just die in the end og the turn, i would remove the nova chaser and take something like Lightning Serpent in instead... don't know if thats any help?

An excellent suggestion! The original reason those are in there is to be searched up with Flamekin Harbinger then be removed by Nova Chaser but that is a perfect replacement. Thanks!

Not sure if running Valakut with only 14 Mountains is worth it, especially when you have no way to fetch Mountains out.

It's an extra punch just in case the game drags.

Yeah, but you have a total of 8 lands that enter the battlefield tapped. That's a lot for an Aggro deck.

This is true, i am banking on the fact that the whole deck basically runs off of three mana. I figure a couple lands that enter taped shouldn't be a problem with such a low mana-curve.

Honestly, if you get to the point where you can turn on Valakut you've probably lost already (though including Reforge the Soul could fix this). +1 regardless.

Alright, what if I took out the valakut and put in the Reforge the Soul s? Cause I really don't need that much mana...

November 12, 2012 2:38 p.m.

That sounds like a reasonable plan.

Also I'm considering taking out Comet Storm for Fling , because it is lower to cast and is extremely effective with things like Ball Lightning that I would end up sac'ing anyway.

Add Sundial of the Infinite and use it before their end of turn, that way they stay alive and you can bring back any of your unearth creatures.

fun_n_games says... #12

no, he kan only use Sundial of the Infinite on his own turn, so that won't work

Fun-n_games actually with the updated rules unearth is an at the beginning of the next end step ability. So yes now Sundial of the Infinite does actually work.

702.82a Unearth is an activated ability that functions while the card with unearth is in a graveyard. Unearth [cost] means [Cost]: Return this card from your graveyard to the battlefield. It gains haste. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step. If it would leave the battlefield, exile it instead of putting it anywhere else. Activate this ability only any time you could cast a sorcery.

Have you tried Flamekin Bladewhirl ?

I'd try something like Banners Raised , Blades of Velis Vel or Trumpet Blast if you can get enough creatures to stick to the board or cast enough creature spells in a turn to make it matter.

Dake says... #16

Now, question on that ruling, will the unearthed creature be exiled at my opponents end step then?

November 19, 2012 2:44 p.m.

MIKI_DK says... #17

Nope it says beginning of the NEXT end step. You just have to use it in response to going to the end step, that way the ability is on the stack and when you use sundial you go straight to the clean-up part of the end step thereby breaking the effect. You've had an end step but skipped the beginning of it. This means that NEXT end step has occurred and as any following end steps has no effect on your creatures as their ability only went as far as beginning of next end step.

If my explanation isn't clear enough there is an abundance of threads out there explaining it like: http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=335306 or http://blogs.magicjudges.org/rulestips/2011/07/what-sundial-of-the-infinite-can-help-you-avoid-and-what-it-cant/

It's an absolutely brilliant trick against negative delayed effects and very versatile.

Though I just noticed all of your creatures have the text at end of turn sacrifice ... or at the beginning of end step sacrifice .... So in your case even though sundial negates the negative effect of unearth it won't negate the ones I have just written in bold. So in your deck it's useless. Sorry for not noticing sooner. Too busy discussing unearth :-).

I considered all of these and even ran Nova Chaser for a short time, but found they were all to slow, this deck should've won by the time most of these are truly an asset to this deck.

I think better than Cavern of Souls is Primal Beyond . But just to this deck :).

Add Sundial of the Infinite and you can keep your end of turn creatures alive every turn for only one mana, as long as they don't die in battle. Also, when you bring back your unearth creatures and use sundial of the infinite they don't get removed from the game at the end of turn, because there are no end of turn activiations. Enjoy!

We already had that conversation, it doesnt work with the creatures because of their wording. If it was just unearth it would, but because they specifically say "at end of turn" or "next end step" as part of their wording, they would be saced on my opponents turn. Thanks though.
