This is my rendition of the classic elemental fling deck.
With a bit of luck, this deck could pull off a turn three win, but it is much more likely to see large amounts of damage being dealt after turn four.
The premise is simple, use Smokebraider to power the Incandescent Soulstoke, putting the Nova Chaser into play, attacking with an 11/3 Haste and Trample and topping it off with Fling or Assault Strobe for 20+ damage.
Ball Lightning, Thunderblust, Hellspark Elemental, and Lightning Bolt are the secondary artillery for this class cannon, very useful for clearing the board of blockers and getting in a few extra points of damage. The creatures also become quite devastating when combined with Fling and Assault Strobe.
Flamekin Harbinger, Smokebraider, Mulldrifter and Soulstoke are your infrastructure, helping you get the cards you need into your hand and onto the table quickly, along with the two other acceleration cards.
Nova Chaser and Supreme Exemplar are your win conditions, and their ability to Champion another elemental makes for some interesting synergies. The obvious one being to exile the Harbinger in order to search for another Nova Chaser when it comes back into play. This principle also works with Mulldrifter's ability. I also like to use it to protect the Soulstoke or Smokebraider if necessary.
The other synergy is with the Incandescent Soulstoke and the Thunderblust. Because a creature returning from exile is considered a new creature, any effects or counters that were on it are removed.
Which means, if a Thunderblust with a -1/-1 counter is Championed, when it returns to play it no longer would have a -1/-1 counter.
Or, if a creature brought into play by Incandescent Soulstoke is Championed, when it returns to play it will not have to be discarded at the end of turn.
The sideboard for this deck is currently a work in progress. Most of the extra cards are to round out draw issues if you need more of a particular card, IE the opponent runs a lot of blockers, might be a good idea to include an extra Thunderblust or Hellspark to help deal damage and clear the field.
Rift bolt is included if you find yourself lacking sufficient burn, and Browbeat when Harbinger and drawing aren't getting you the cards you need.
The sideboard is where I currently feel I need the most work, possibly something that destroy's artifacts and enchantments. I haven't played against any control decks to see what I might need in those match ups.
This is my first deck as an MTG player who started a few months ago. Any feedback at all would be most appreciated.
