Elenda: Aristocrat Vampires Lifedrain Counters 60

Duel Commander* WB (Orzhov)

homemaderum

Elenda 60-card Project.
This deck is made for a 60-card singleton homebrew format my playgroup uses, that follows Brawl rules for life and deck size, but EDH for deck composition. We're playing a lot of 1x1 right now w/ Covid via webcam, so using Duel Commander ban lists accordingly.
In addition, my playgroup opts to use a rarity restriction in our deck building. 10% M, 20% R, and 30% U; trade downs are possible 1:1, and lowest rarity printing ever is what counts (regardless of what is sleeved up).

This is an aristocrats themed build primarily, leveraging tokens as a source of bodies to fuel sacrifice/dies triggers. We need fodder to sacrifice by the time Elenda hits the board, and outlets to sacrifice them. We'll also look for cards that support this angle while providing gas to the deck, to dig into a winning combination. Key fodder include Pawn of Ulamog, Oathsworn Vampire, and Mavren Fein, Dusk Apostle. Important sacrifice outlets include Bloodthrone Vampire, Viscera Seer, and Yahenni, Undying Partisan. There's a deep pool of cards to support this deck's primary theme, either making bodies or using them as fuel; keeping this strategy tight may be challenging when there are so many great Aristocrat support cards, and we'll need it that way to fit in the other strategies the deck is packing.
There's a number of vampires that support our primary theme, so tribal effects and anthems provide a secondary strategy. We can get thick with anthems and counters, and get solid utility value - such as protecting our vampire engine pieces. Synergistic pieces include Captivating Vampire, Bloodline Keeper  , and Etchings of the Chosen. In addition to generic tribal support cards like Vanquisher's Banner and Herald's Banner, there's pro-vampire vampires like Legion's Lieutenant and Forerunner of the Legion to expand on this strategy. Door of Destinies can easily become a significant force multiplier when applied to the handful of tokens Elenda makes.
Lifelink on our strategic centerpiece is able to gain life in big chunks. Lifelink on the tokens is also a means to keep those triggers going. Many of the aristocrat payoffs and vampires involve life drain effects, too. This gives a third strategic approach. Key cards include Blood Artist, Cruel Celebrant, and Falkenrath Noble. There's impressive heavies available to support this angle, too: Malakir Bloodwitch, Sanctum Seeker, Twilight Prophet, Exsanguinate/Debt to the Deathless and Harsh Sustenance.
Elenda puts counters on herself, and as it turns out, there are a number of powerful plays that support our other strategies. Cards like Cordial Vampire, Cathars' Crusade, and Urge to Feed are highly synergistic with our game plan, but there's a large number of high-impact cards available here: Blade of the Bloodchief, Indulgent Aristocrat, Necropolis Regent, Drana, Liberator of Malakir, Dark Impostor, Bloodtracker, and way way more.
