Maybeboard

Running a tokens/counters aristocrats deck with Elenda, the Dusk Rose at the helm.

This deck focusing on utilizing +1/+1 counters to generate tokens AND spend them to get repeatable spot removal. The goal is to make going wide make you go tall. Get Elenda pumped up and sac her out for a massive token payout. It's very simple and easy to have turns where you make 20-50 tokens per turn with only piece in play to boost your token production on the board.

Your primary goal is to be pumping up Elenda as much as possible, while flooding the board. Phyrexian Reclamation will be primarily helping Elenda with tax evasion, as Reclamation will give Elenda a cheaper cast from her third cast onwards at the cost of 2 life. You can use Elenda to swing for lethal, or the flood of tokens to sac out with a drain death trigger on board. You'll have multiple ways to protect your board state and wincons, and Ozolith providing counter retention can cause a critical mass quite quickly. Multiple tutors are available to help with deck consistency and ensuring you have what you need as often as possible. Multiple card draw engines are available to use and abuse.

With Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and/or Cruel Celebrant on the field to provide payoff, Basri's Lieutenant + Cathars' Crusade will generate an infinite amount of tokens with any available sac outlet, allowing you to close out a game by draining your opponents.

For exhibit 2 for our infinite combos, we have the super unique and rarely seen Exquisite Blood + Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose . Much wow, very unique.

Ashnod's Altar + Pitiless Plunderer + Reassembling Skeleton makes infinite colorless mana.

Basri's Lieutenant + Cathars' Crusade + Phyrexian Altar with NO sac payoffs on board makes infinite colored mana. Adding Pitiless Plunderer speeds up your process.

Basri's Lieutenant + Cathars' Crusade + Nether Traitor with a Phyrexian Altar or Ashnod's Altar as a sac outlet will make infinite mana, infinite tokens, and infinite dies triggers.

My normal pod recently decided we didn't want to use 2 card infinite combos, and keeping them in will limit us to 1 action/target per turn. So when im playing with the normal pod, i swap out Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Exquisite Blood, and Basri's Lieutenant for Dictate of Erebos, Generous Gift, and Debt to the Deathless. You have 0 net change to your average CMC, keep a wincon, and increase removal. Honestly if im not trying to combo i like those 3 changes the best.

===subpanel: March 29th, 2022:

Blood Artist -> Bastion of Remembrance I'm tired of Artist hitting 1 opponent. Early game he does little work, and by the time you've got only 1 opponent left he becomes inconsequential. I'd prefer paying 3 mana for an extra Zulaport effect with a free token that is harder to remove.

Mentor of the Meek -> Welcoming Vampire Mentor might ultimately get me more cards drawn, but Mentor wasn't doing me much good getting cards early by comparison. I found myself casting less spells early on to try and get more cards. I'll likely work them both back in sometime in the future.

Reassembling Skeleton -> Nether Traitor The skeleton has barely ever been cast out of the yard. I feel most of the time he is there was because I just discarded him after ending the turn with a massive hand. Nether Traitor will likely see much more play given how hard it combos, as well as only costing 1.

Land Tax -> Talisman of Hierarchy I'm beginning to feel like I'm getting a lot of confirmation bias from Land Tax. I already feel like if it procs once per game with a fairly early play, it made it's worth for fixing my land drops. I'm never using this late game, though. I'm temporarily trying out Talisman of Heierarchy in lieu to see if the better true ramp does me more good. I'll update this specific change in the decklist when I make an actual decision on this matter.

There were a few other changes I made, I just need to take a look in the deck and double check the changes I made a couple weeks ago. ===endsubpanel
