Hey everyone, I'm here posting what will probably be my main standard deck for a while! As always, I'd really appreciate any suggestions, and thanks in advance for looking through my deck! This is a Jund Energy/Aggro list that I've been playing with for a few weeks now. I started off with the Jund aggro list posted on CFB a while back, and continued to build off of it. Without further ado, I'll go through the cards, as well as the additions and cuts:
Voltaic Brawler, Greenbelt Rampager,
Scrapheap Scrounger
: The real core of the deck, these are big, early creatures that swing in for big damage throughout the game. Voltaic Brawler pumps itself,
Scrapheap Scrounger
is recursive, and Greenbelt Rampager is just cheap. They all also crew Heart of Kiran, which is very imprtant.
Heart of Kiran: This card is fantastic throughout the entire game, and even drawing a backup is never horrible because it is such a removal magnet. If you drop it on turn 2, it's like giving the rest of your creatures haste and a buff when they enter, and late game it flies over a clogged board very nicely. Cutting the fourth was mainly because of the inclusion of a couple more creatures that can't crew it, and the fact that multiples in the early game is a little awkward.
Rhonas the Indomitable: Very powerful late game, but is lackluster early, so I'm only running two. Still, once you have Rhonas up and running with a potential activation are two, he can be pretty hard to beat.
Longtusk Cub: The deck has trouble sometimes with having enough energy, so Longtusk Cub is the answer for that. While he's definitely worth it if he gets to connect once or twice, if he doesn't then he ends up being very bad, not crewing Heart of Kiran, and not attacking for much. Still, he is performing decently at the moment, so I'll see where he ends up.
Glint-Sleeve Siphoner: A very powerful card for an aggro deck to have, Glint-Sleeve Siphoner still suffers from two things: 1) not crewing Heart of Kiran, and 2) the general energy deficiency the deck has. When it works it works well, but otherwise it's not great. It seems like this and Heart of Kiran are pulling the deck in two different directions, and while I hope that they are able to stay in the same shell together, only more playing will tell.
Blossoming Defense: A fantastic card in all scenarios, I'd love to add another but I'm not sure what I would cut. It's always useful, and makes defending much more difficult for the opponent.
Bristling Hydra, Glorybringer: The deck's top end, both of these guys add a lot of finishing power to the deck along with Rhonas the Indomitable.
Attune with Aether: In case you haven't been playing standard in the last year: if you're in energy, you're running Attune with Aether. No further explanation needed.
Cut, Fatal Push, Unlicensed Disintegration: Cheap, powerful, or both, the removal suite rounds the deck out. doing everything from getting rid of blockers, to huge creatures that would otherwise turn the tide of the game, all of these are important to the deck and I've been ver happy wit the split.
