Ideally using Elite Arcanist to exile Silence and keep my opponent locked down during each upkeep. This will be by either having two of them on the board or using ciphered Hidden Strings on Ascended Lawmage to keep them untapped. To protect the Arcanists, either Shielded Pasage or another Arcanist with Render Silent exiled, which in this deck is strictly better than Cancel.

Dramatic Rescue to offset early game life loss and return opponent's creatures to their hand to be countered.

Essence Scatter and Negate for early/mid-game control. Sideboard more of either for creature- or spell-heavy decks.

AEtherling is the win condition. The deck buys itself time to get him out.
