Hidden Strings doesn't work... Its a sorcery. So we have 7 spots open. I feel like I'm missing something.

Debating Negate or Izzet Charm . I feel like the Charm would make me have to get more dual lands for mana fixing and I'm not sure I want to do that.

I'm also debating Mizzium Skin or Simic Charm and whether or not whichever I choose should be main or side boarded. Same thing as the izzet charm, I feel like I'd need more dual lands for the charm.

And Savage Summoning as a possible sideboard card against control... Not sure yet but I think I like it over Dispel against control.

Thoughts?

Take out the guildgates, basic lands are more reliable

I'd say the biggest thing you can do is get shock lands in your colors to help with the mana base and smooth things out some. It's a fun infinite combo deck in standard. I'd say Negates are probably your best bet, you really need to be able to protect your dudes from kill spells while you try to set up. Um Disperse could be good, Can function like a counter spell in terms of protecting your guys from kill spells, you can ghost block with any of your guys while you wait to draw into the combo, and you could pick up elite arcanist to put him down with one of the combo spells if you had to put fog on him to stall out a bit.

I couldn't find the Edit button, but um You should have 4 x Sylvan Caryatid's instead of the Opal's, Ease of casting aside it's just a much better card for your purposes, 10 sources of green, and a 0/3 hex proof for 2 is WAY different then a 1/2 defenseless for 3.

Zoke20 Thanks for your ideas, as I'm trying to keep this budget I've been staying away from buying shocks for it yet. I was also debating about buying the 4x Sylvan Caryatid but decided I'd start out with Opaline Unicorn to see if the deck actually works and they are a bit pricy.

I loved this combo, +1 for it and for the budget. What about switching green for black and using Diabolic Tutor ? Although Fog will be missed...

Main problem with that is Zhur-Taa Druid is my main win-con. Also the double black would hit my deck hard.

maybe run Centaur Battlemaster and an Elite Arcanist with a Bioshift . if it targets the battlemaster, and if you have two out, you cant just say transfer zero counters and add three counters to each for one mana. EACH TURN.

I think you should concentrate on pullingoff your win combo and focus more on control for the rest of the deck. Get rid of omen, hoverwall and unicorn and replace with counter spells (syncopate is a favourite of mine), other assorted control and caryatid.

This is really pretty cool. It's not often you get to untap with Arcanist in play, but if you add some additional protection this might actually work. I'd suggest removing the the Hover Barrier for Izzet Charm and Ring of Three Wishes + Magma Jet for some combination of Dissolve and Divination (or maybe Steam Augury ?).

Burst of Strength can also pull a combo with Elite Arcanist and super powers him :). oh and Illusionist's Bracers works wonders for this. just remember elite arcanist doesnt get very much play time cuz he is such a huge target... it sucks but its true. so you might wanna add some other win cons. because I have been playing this in a way and already tore apart the deck cuz the combo good but once broken its very hard to stabilize again...

Signal the Clans Is not only better, but cheaper in casting than Ring of Three Wishes . Yes it is random, but more than likely you'll consistently get the missing pieces that you need for your infinite combo to work. It also happens to be in the bargain bin and more readily available.

Or even Manaweft Sliver / Voyaging Satyr / Elvish Mystic if you want to keep it budget would be better.

I've thought about Signal the Clans but the randomness is just not good. I've got a one in three chance I get my missing piece if I'm not missing Triton Tactics . for now I'll stick with what i've got.

And yes Sylvan Caryatid is much better than Opaline Unicorn but this is an extreme budget deck.

Then Prophet of Kruphix ? It'll allow you to drop your combo instant speed at the end step and untap and win.

Playtesting it out and I just want haste or flash to get this stuff out. I'm also thinking Izzet Staticaster somehow too, just not sure where (but would combo also off with your Arcanist/Tactics combo to board wipe).

You would use elite with triton tactics exiled with him. And pay the ability with manaweft. Do that an infinite amount of times then play the rapport. And what you are left with is a crazy amount of life. :) good one!
