Yeah, actually I have a deck called Night Master's Army that I'm looking for new input on. It plays really smoothly as it is but I sort of want to sideboard the Vile Rebirth and put in some more mana. I also have mixed feelings on the Shadow Alley Denizen nice chump blocker and good early game as well as helping achieve Lord of Lineage Flip but I just don't know. Please just comment and let me know what you think. Thanks!

Is there anyway that I can see the pre-updated deck build? I was in the process of building it and I want to make the previous one but can't find it anywhere.

Tried out a very slight variation of this deck at FNM (had a few scrylands, not quite enough charms, some fogs and negates) went 1-3.
Only managed to get out the combo once, and only after using infinite fog to keep me alive against 87! damage on the board, and recalling my own omen speaker multiple times to recast the scry.
Its a really awesome combo, and I love it, its just a little tricky to get out.

zwehner The difference between the pre-updated and now is that the AEtherize was Fog , There were only 2 Savage Summoning , 3 Simic Charm and no Voyage's End , there were 3 Negate , and 3 Deadly Recluse

pbhead What are any suggestions you can make to my deck? Did you have the sideboard completed too?
Fizzz I haven't had a chance yet. I still want to make it completed before I take it in.

Maybe add some draw power if your combo isn't coming out easy enough. With Blue in your scheme, think about Divination Or Opportunity :)

WhittleDevil I've got 2 Opportunity mainboarded. Thanks for your suggestion tho :)

Lord007 I am no magic expert, I only started with theros. I really have no valuable input. Savage summoning for me is only in the sideboard, because this is a combo that no one expects, even when it is out on the field, so I have never had them kill the Arcanist while it still has sickness. I am thinking about trying to either to try a blue-white or blue-black deck with Elite Arcanist . The Idea of Elite Arcanist + Dissolve with Elite Arcanist + Silence or Elite Arcanist + Hero's Downfall , really kinda sounds fun as well.

I feel we need another win-con Lord007. I have managed to get to turn 10-13 with only ONE part of the combo on the board lol.
Maybe 2 AEtherling ?
November 9, 2013 3:59 p.m.
The only problem I see with that is it turning into a situation where we start it as an alternate win-con in sideboard, then mainboard, then we take out the combo pieces and put in more control and have AEtherling has the only win-con. For now I'm going to keep it how it is.

Blistercoil Weird works well here. he gets super big for a swing if you need it.
November 9, 2013 6:47 p.m.
I think Blistercoil Weird is actually a good idea because its another way to win from the combo. I would cut Opportunity for Inspiration . In terms of getting the combo out earlier, a draw spell which you can't cast till turn 5-6 probably isn't what you want.
November 9, 2013 11:02 p.m.
Bestach Yah but wait 2 turns and draw 2 more cards? If I switched to Inspiration I would need to include more than a 2 of and I don't know what I would cut for it. Same problem with the Blistercoil Weird along with the fact that it's actually not a great thing since for him to be lethal I should have already won with the combo...
November 10, 2013 5:27 p.m.
Oh, I didn't see that. Sorry, when i first looked at this deck you had a secondary combo which involved infinite life or something. I thought Blistercoil Weird worked for that, but it looks like you took that out.
I still think for you Inspiration is better. You need to win early to avoid being beaten down by aggro or countered or destroyed by control (Esper). You have Omenspeaker for an early blocker, but Aggro will swing past it and control doesn't care. Control will just Doom Blade your Elite Arcanist though. You need to be able to gain card advantage before they get too far ahead. In that case its really just, Inspiration casts on t4 and Opportunity casts on t6. Against most decks, that just too late. Everytime you bounce a guy because you can't go off, thats another turn for control to build card advantage, and thats all they care about.

Bestach I see your point. I'll try swapping the Voyage's End with Inspiration for greater card draw and I'll keep the Opportunity in for now as I test some more.

Its up to you. I haven't played the deck, so I don't really know if it turns out better. Just thought it might be worth trying.

you might want to try Gruul Charm to get rid of flyers, it might work for you, it also works against opposing Nightveil Specter s, killing them and taking back free stuff (elite arcanist).
November 11, 2013 11:52 a.m.
Droxium I haven't had much problem with flyers yet. Gruul Charm is definitely a good card and I'll keep it in maybe board and see if I can make room for it in sideboard.

Love the combo, but quick question: Why Inspiration over Divination ?

AEtherize helped me survive against a R/B aggro deck. It felt NICE returning gods and creatures alike :)
