This is my approach on
Elsha of the Infinite
developed when the card was spoiled. No other decklists are used to make this deck, this is an original approach (finished on 14/08/19). The basic idea is simple we find a way to draw our library and finish our opponents off with a single
Grapeshot
.
The easiest way to draw our library is to cast a cost reduction spell in the early game for example
Helm of Awakening
. From there with
Elsha of the Infinite
on the battlefield we tutor
Sensei's Divining Top
to the top of our library. In this setup we can draw our library for free and you can win in multiple ways. But I really like
Second Sunrise
loops.
We keep repeating the draw loop until we hit
Conjurer's Bauble
and
Lion's Eye Diamond
and cast them for free from the top. Notice that we we can keep casting a lot of mana rocks from the top of our library too. With our library in our hand crack
Lion's Eye Diamond
for then crack
Conjurer's Bauble
targetting
Second Sunrise
and cast it from the top of your library returning both
Lion's Eye Diamond
and
Conjurer's Bauble
. Keep repeating this loop until your storm count is very high. Notice that with
Helm of Awakening
we also generate infinite mana along the way! Then crack
Conjurer's Bauble
targetting
Grapeshot
, simply win from there ^^
Notice with our commander this can be done on instant speed ^^ say whaaaat???
Off course we don't want to be countered or stopped during combo. So this is where our protection package comes in with cards like
Teferi, Time Raveler
,
Silence
, etc. Normally while drawing our library we will be able to cast artifacts from the top of our library and we can cast a protection card from the top of our library. This is important if we want to win on instant speed otherwise just draw library and cast the protection before combo'ing off.
If for some reason everything is in the graveyard except one you can do the following (assuming you have drawn your library and cast the relevant pieces, can only be done on sorcery speed):
Only
Lion's Eye Diamond
available: simply crack
Lion's Eye Diamond
, discard your hand and cast
Echo of Eons
then every combo piece is in your library again.
Only
Conjurer's Bauble
available: cast it and get back
Lion's Eye Diamond
. Proceed like if only
Lion's Eye Diamond
was available.
Notice we can set up a
Echo of Eons
loop. Assume you are able to draw your library and your commander is in play. Then crack
Lion's Eye Diamond
, discard your hand, cast
Echo of Eons
, draw your library again, cast
Lotus Petal
and
Lion's Eye Diamond
,crack
Lotus Petal
, cast
Pull from Eternity
and get back
Echo of Eons
. Start over again. Build storm.
Grapeshot
!!
What to do if
Sensei's Divining Top
is gone for some reason?? We can setup
Basalt Monolith
+
Mesmeric Orb
and mill ourselves. First notice that both cards in the combo aren't quite dead cards in our hand.
Basalt Monolith
let us ramp and
Mesmeric Orb
might be a pain in the ass for some other combo decks by milling crucial cards. With our commander in play it is easy to win once this combination is setup. We can mill away dead cards, try to net mana and in the end win with the previous explained
Second Sunrise
loop.
But can we win without our commander by milling ourselves?? Yes we can!! Thanks to the new commander 2019 card
Sevinne's Reclamation
. Just mill your deck and have in your mana pool. Then use from
Basalt Monolith
and the floating mana to cast
Sevinne's Reclamation
and bring back
Laboratory Maniac
and
Conjurer's Bauble
--> win!! Notice in this case you might want to have protection up because we can't protect ourselves by casting a card from the top of the library.
You might ask why not win with
Sevinne's Reclamation
and
Laboratory Maniac
if we can draw our library with
Sensei's Divining Top
?? The answer is simple, in this case we cannot win on instant speed except if we mill
Laboratory Maniac
before
Sevinne's Reclamation
and we are able to cast it from the top of our library. Also the
Second Sunrise
pile does not require extra mana as is the case for the
Laboratory Maniac
wincon.
