Glad you like it! Deicide is definitely going in somewhere, probably the sideboard. I want at least one Iroas, God of Victory too. Godsend is pretty neat but I'm not completely sold on it for this deck.
As for Chandra's Phoenix , I'm a big fan, personally. a 2/2 flyer with haste is already good, but it gives to devotion and comes back when I use burn too. I'm less sold on Fanatic of Mogis . He's fun, and I have plenty to activate devotion already, plus I love the flicker trick with Legion's Initiative I might replace him with Iroas once Journey Into Nyx is out though.

Fair enough, but I'd consider taking legion's out too, since you've already got charm for control :)

After a little bit of playtesting, I'm finding I agree with you about Legion's Initiative and Chained to the Rocks . Initiative doesn't really do much for me, and by the time I could make good use of the flicker the game's already mostly decided. Good call.

nice deck+1 from me. ever consider Precinct Captain . extra token generation and more ways to trigger Purphoros, God of the Forge . Launch the Fleet may also be nice for that.

Magma Jet for some extra burn and nice scry 2 to keep your deck flowing smoothly. Also strongly recommend upping your land to 24, 22 is a little low and you have 5 and 6 drops.

Blackblade: I hadn't considered Precinct Captain . Not sure if I'd use him since I'm trying to go for mostly red creatures for devotion, but he's worth considering. Launch the Fleet is definitely something I want once JOU comes out though.
EsoEric: I've actually been playtesting it with Magma Jet instead of the Warleader's Helix for the moment. I know 22 is a little low but I haven't really been having any trouble with mana. The scrylands certainly help filter, and with the Magma Jets right now I'm having no issue.
Glad you guys like it, though, and thanks for the tips.

I like it. Do you know when Tappedout will fix the JOU legality?

I'd take out one of the Assemble the Legion s and add another Fanatic of Mogis or Launch the Fleet .

I definitely want more Launch the Fleet , especially with Assemble the Legion rotating out soon. I think I have enough Fanatics, though.

have you considered Eidolon of the Great Revel
instead of Ash Zealot
?
At the very least, it could work post rotation.

I've thought about it, since there's really not a lot of stuff to fill that 2CMC spot post-rotation that'd work for this. I think this deck has too many 3 or lower CMC cards in the mainboard for that to be too useful, at least in its current form. Definitely a possible sideboard card though.

I like this deck alot,on paper. I tried running something very similar myself, however, it was a consistent loser at FNM, so I abandoned it in favor of a different boros build. What are you doing turn 1 besides land/pass. It seems to me, although I'm truly not an expert, that in many cases, you're going to just take whatever the opponent has until turn 3, when you're racing to catch up. While I totally get that reckoner is great to curb aggro I'd be tempted to pull two of those and two ash zealots for the red 1 one drop of your choice, maybe akroan crusader to keep with your theme

You're right. It's a fun deck to play but first turn, nothing really happens. I honestly haven't looked at it much since before M15, since I wanted to wait until post-rotation to do some more work on it. Akroan Crusader would be a good choice, though.
I'm thinking Goblin Rabblemaster and a few more low-cost creatures are gonna be the way to go, with less creatures overall and more burn, and probably swap out Elspeth since she's so slow. I've found the Elspeth/Purphoros/Assemble the Legion combo, while really satisfying when it does go off, is too slow.

Nice deck! I think that I would go for a play set of chained to the rocks though, I would drop fanatic or Phoenix, but that's just personal preference tbh. I would put Last Breath in board for against MUD and decks that'll use Aegis of the Gods , but that depends on your meta. You may actually want to board aegis too.
You will want Deicide and Prophetic Flamespeaker when they come out, and probably Iroas, God of Victory too. Godsend looks good too.
