TMBRLZ problem is my mama ramp is not that big so pulling things like Tooth and Nail are going to be non-existent. I'm not sure of other combos or protection and want to hear more ideas. thank you

I agree with the previous post - for speed, you'll want fewer big cards and more ramp. It can be as simple as Elvish Mystic or Rampant Growth or Bosk Banneret (which will help you drop the piper but nothing else) or more expensive like Noble Hierarch. An alternative is to add a lot more control to protect you until you can drop your big threats, since you're running blue.

libraryjoy that is exactly what I should do, any other suggestions?

An elf ramp package could be good here along with tooth and nail. Arbor Elf, Elvish Mystic, Voyaging Satyr, and Utopia Sprawl would be good. The sprawl to be untapped by the elf and satyr, and the mystic for consistent ramp. I'd say 4 of each along with the Tooth and Nail, which is probably a 3-4 of. That gives you 18-19 spots for anything else you'd like to keep, such as the amulet, piper, and big dudes.
Hope this helps!

I would recommend Chord of Calling if you run a elf/mana ramp package it'll let you pull some of your other toolbox items. Or best of all pull up a Elvish Piper at instant speed to drop a fatty you have in your hand next turn

The way I see it, this deck needs a lot more ramp. You want to be able to accelerate out an Elvish Piper or Quicksilver Amulet, while simultaneously being able to protect it from removal. Lightpulsar9's suggestion of the Arbor Elf/Voyaging Satyr/Utopia Sprawl package seems like a good idea, and I'd also add Overgrowth or Fertile Ground to the suggestion pile.
Given that most effects that would target these cards are on sorceries or instants, you don't need bulky counterspells like Cancel or Scatter to the Winds, and should instead consider lower-to-the-ground counterspells such as Dispel, Swan Song, or even Simic Charm to protect your combo pieces. Instead of having so many payoff cards, pick a few that have overpowering effects (like Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite, Iona, Shield of Emeria, and Emrakul, the Aeons Torn), and focus on getting those in play consistently.

I love big creature ramp!
If you want some other options for getting big creatures out (or even getting an Elvish Piper out) I would suggest: Sol Ring, Lurking Predators, Wild Pair, and maybe even Frontier Siege (for its Khan ability).
+1 from me!

Sol Ring is not Modern Legal. Any of the other suggestions are kind of late if you want to be dropping things by t4. Looks like you've got a pretty good mix of creature/enchantment/spell ramp. If you happen to draw both Utopia Sprawl and Arbor Elf, you could drop big threats as early as t3.

You probably will want 4 elvish mystic to maximize the turn 2 piper

Kjartan ya they do, turn 3-4 drop myojin of life's webs and remove the divinity counter instantly to drop any big creatures in hand. The other is more for screwing them over turn3-4
June 18, 2016 11:08 a.m.
Actually, they don't get a Divinity counter, unless you cast it from your hand. Unless you actually intend to hardcast them, they are just going to be big vanilla beaters.

Maybe consider Fauna Shaman to either dig out your piper, or to dig out a fatty if you have piper already

Fun deck with interesting creatures, but I agree with the fact that there isn't enough early game to go around. Mana ramp with more cards like Elvish Mystic or Lotus Cobra

Id definitely suggest some kind of tutor for your fatties, maybe a Fauna Shaman or even a Primal Command to add a bounce or lifegain.
Eternal Witness is always great in green imo

It's a really nice idea, I really like it. I see problems though, as you have almost no protection from them doing stuff to your creatures and combos. What do you do when your first Elvish Piper gets shocked and then they Surgical Extraction you? What do you do when you get beat by Infect 5 damage a turn while you're trying to ramp? What happens when your combo gets countered? I like the deck, I just don't see how it plays against the top tier deck.

I think looking at your deck, you have the ramp, you have Piper and Amulet to cheat in your fatties. I'm thinking you have too many other creatures. One Emrakul finishes off the game, same for one Blightsteel, Elesh Norn and Iona.
-4 Prince of Thralls +3 Spell Pierce-1 Platinum Emperion +1 Gitaxian Probe-2 Contingency Plan +2 Serum Visions

No problem, I think it'll play much better now and be much more competitive. Make sure to let me know how you do next time you play with it and I can give you more input after you tell me how it did :)

I think the land base should be x8 Forest, x8Island2x Minamo, School at Water's Edge 2x Mikokoro, Center of the Sea utility lands are useful.

Shane.Allen but what about the utopia sprawl convo with forests to get piper out turn 2?

Oh yes Retile1234 I forgot about that for a minute. Okay, so here would be the best build:
5x Forest
5x Island
The fetches are great for deck thinning and getting the exact land you need. The Breeding Pool's allow Utopia Sprawl to be played on 9 different lands.

Shane.Allen I'm not to much of a fan of all those other ones that only touch one of my duel colors. And I'm 16 and don't have a job so money is tight. I like the breeding pool tho.

I understand that you are a toolbox but I really feel like there needs to be a LITTLE more focus for the deck.
Needs less Archetype of Endurance. You still lose things to board sweeps.
I would recommend maybe running less big game winners and focusing more on a select few and use the extra space for cards that will actually get the creatures you need in your hand like Tooth and Nail. Might wants some ramp in there to.
Under current circumstances you can't put anything down until turn 5, and that's assuming they don't remove your creature and/or artifact in-between cast and activation. Pick a handful of the creatures you like and that you need. Maybe use a couple copies of each and then everything else should be ensuring you can QUICKLY and consistently sneak them into play.
