This deck is a evolution of my Selvala, Explorer Returned elf tribal deck. I really liked abusing the tap abilities, but didn't use the deck often because another player also had a Selvala deck. When Samut, Voice of Dissent was spoiled, she seemed perfect for developing that angle. Haste and an untap ability in the command zone would really spice up the deck. Will it work better than Selvala? We shall see.

The deck remains mostly elf tribal, with several other creatures that look fun to untap many times. I included some X-cost spells to take advantage of any big mana I can make. Samut can win with commander damage in a pinch as well, since elves like Timberwatch Elf can target any creature.

The first test of the deck went pretty well! I didn't get an untap effect until mid-late game, so it was beneficial to have a commander that could untap creatures. Having haste was very relevant, too - using the activated abilities the turn the creatures come down made the deck feel more swift and responsive.

The elf synergy was strong - at one point I was down to 4 life, but was able to use Glare of Subdual to stop attackers until I could recover with Wellwisher. The funny part was I had played Sylvan Offering earlier so an opponent also had some elves, which Wellwisher counts too, so I'd gain 17 life per tap, and quickly got up to 86 life. I closed out the game by creating 36 mana with Elvish Archdruid and casting Fall of the Titans to burn out the remaining two players.

Karametra, God of Harvests *f-etch* > Cultivate - I think I'd rather just play a cheaper ramp card here. Karametra comes down later when I don't have as many creatures in hand to play. I think I might use her for a cat tribal deck instead.
