I always felt that it wasn't that great though. It can only drag either no damage or two damage, and that's a drop in the bucket when compared to a wheel.

I tried forced fruition for a bit, but usually someone would remove my punishment and then go crazy. So I'm not a fan. I also ran Trinket Mage for a while, but he got cut somewhere along the way due to lack of space.

You have all of them, I was just saying you could ditch it for other utility cards because the damage you get out of it doesn't end up doing much

Your list looks pretty fun too. I'd also loove to play Mana Crypt but even with the reprint I doubt I'll be getting one anytime soon.
Might I suggest Sorin Markov for your list? he works pretty well for me, and after using his -3 that player usually dies in his next upkeep.
Also what do you think of Venser's Journal or Whip of Erebos in this deck? especially with cards like Spiteful Visions or Phyrexian Tyranny.

My Mana Crypt was a wedding present. The acceleration is so valuable. Getting Nekusar in play fast is key.

I tried Venser's Journal but I never thought to use Whip of Erebos. I cut the whip because I built the deck with same principles in mind for when I used to play modern burn competitively: don't put anything in the deck that doesn't hurt your opponents. If I'm worried about life loss I'll tutor up Bloodchief Ascension. I do play the whip in my Ghoulcaller Gisa deck though.

I can't play Sorin Markov. I think it tends to detract from the deck's will to play fair and fun.

Mana Crypt is just flat out broken and I love it.
Makes sense not to include Sorin Markov then, seeing as you aren't running any infinite combos either. My playgroup is pretty cutthroat so it's not a problem that I'm running a few for either of us, we just like the challange not having the freedom to make mistakes.
Ghoulcaller Gisa looks like a really fun general too and black has been my favorite colour from the beginning so I'm going to check out that list for sure.

Just wondering if you have considered Helm of the Ghastlord or Curiosity. Both can be very good on Nekusar.

Yes I tried both at once point or another. I don't like aura's because I don't like getting two-for-oned by spot removal and they don't work with Lightning Greaves, which is important to me, since Nekusar is always such a target. I took Curiosity out specifically because it combos with Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind, and that's not the game I'm trying to play. Ultimately thought I think the way this deck has evolved has been to maximize mass draw and punishment at the expense of all else, so those cards just don't cut it when trimming the fat.

Ever thought of putting a Mikokoro, Center of the Sea in the deck my nekusar is extremely similar minus a couple cards but I've been thinking of doing some changes you mind if I shoot you a link once I put it up?

FINALLY! Another person who is running Teferi's Puzzle Box in there Nekusar deck. I'm not the best at suggestions due to the fact that most peoples play styles really matter when it comes to what cards go in. Instead I will leave a link to my Nekusar deck for you to look at if you wish. If I could find a copy of Mikokoro around here it would be in the deck for sure, but none of the local shops ever have a copy and I don't really like ordering cards online.
