Hey, all! I've got a control deck, and I REALLY need help with side-boarding. Any feedback is welcome.
This is a different spin on a control deck that I took to FNM last week that went 2-0-2. I feel confident I could have won the other two matches, but both were 1-1 when time ran out in the last game. I've added in the Sands of Delirium as a faster win condition than swinging with Gideon or the angels or trying to bounce with Pierce Strider.
The goal of the deck is to stop them from attacking with Venser/CC and Stonehorn Dignitary, then finish the opponent off with planeswalkers or Sands of Delirium. It's a very defensive deck with several ways to get me to late game:
Angelic Wall: put this in for Pride Guardian for the flying and extra toughness, great against delver
Timely reinforcements: by turn three, I'm always behind on creatures and life. This puts me on parity or ahead
DoJ/Rebirth/Sunblast: sweepers of various flavors
Gideon: his +2 works like a mini-version of Stonehorn/Venser and has bought me many, many turns
I see a lot of creatures these days, and this deck has been a great for catching a lot of opponents off guard. Game 2 is always tough, though, so I would greatly appreciate any sideboard advice you could give. Thanks!
~RR
P.S. If I use Venser's +2 with Stonehorn, will I be able to use Conjurer's closet on it in the same turn "at the beginning of the end step"?
