I think you may need some more counter magic to protect your combos. Plus, Mindbreak Trap is a thing. I would suggest Pact of Negation .

Cyclonic Rift would be good in the sideboard to put everything back in their hand.

Pithing Needle is a great toolbox sideboard card. Stops Ghost Quarter and Tectonic Edge .

Torpor Orb hoses Melira Pod.

Tron may be tough for you. Also Jund with Thoughtsieze turn 1.

aeonstoremyliver, I guess I'll take your point on more counter spells. Although the point of this deck is to be fast so having cyclonic rift (overload) and mindbreak trap isn't that much of an effect here. Pithing Needle, I'm good with it. Thanks!

Usually, I'd concede after turn 7. What I need maybe are some more tutor cards for Pili-Pala and Grand Architect.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but you can make the infinite mana combo kick turn three... No need to wait till turn 4!

Turn 1 - IslandTurn 2 - Island - PiliTurn 3 - Island - Grand Architect - Attack with Pili - Tap Grand Architect (ability doesn't require haste!) for two mana, untap Pili floating a blue mana - Turn Pili blue - tap Pili for two mana - Insert infinite mana here....

MythrilJenova care to organize your comment? It kinda took me some time before I understood your comment. Lol. Anyway, are you sure you don't need haste for this?

I'm certain. And I had it organized but when I posted it, it got scattered. Sorry about that. But no you don't need haste because it is not an activated ability that included a tap symbol. So turn three works well, given that you can attacl through. I have a version of this that works well but given I've used it in competitions I would recommend trying to add protection for the combo lile Spellskite

MythrilJenova Thanks! I think Spellskite is nice, is there any other card that does about the same job but is cheaper?

Actually, I checked.

1/1/2011 Since Grand Architect's last ability doesn't have a tap symbol in its cost, you can tap a blue creature (including Grand Architect itself) that hasn't been under your control since your most recent turn began to pay the cost.

Soooo turn 3 is good!

You do know that mana produced by tapping blue creatures from Grand Architect can only be used to cast artifacts or the abilities of artifacts, you cant actually use that mana for eldrazi creatures.

Weth8 I see you're confused. The mana produced from Grand Architect is the mana you use for the ability of Pili-Pala . Then the mana produced by Pili-pala is used for the Eldrazi.

Ahh thanks for clearing that up, I don't play much modern just getting into it started recently in standard so I didn't realize pili-pala untapped

Hey how can u cast Banefire ?? did I miss something??

January 29, 2014 2:39 p.m.

DenzelPretzel says... #13

Bonatso, yes. The infinite mana produces any color. So if by chance you have no eldrazi but has a banefire in hand, you can use it without any interruptions.

While Banefire works... IF you get it in your hand... Since you run Muddle and Drift transmute I would recommend using Exsanguinate or Mind Grind since you can transmute for them. Unless you want to add in something like Dizzy Spell to transmute for Banefire. Also don't ever forget (since it wasn't in your description as a wincon) that you can use Muddle to transmute for Blue Sun's and force opponent to draw the deck and pass turn.

-MisterJ- thanks for the recommendations. I think I'll take Exsanguinate because I play chaos a lot.

And yes, Blue Sun's Zenith can outdraw the opponent. I did mention it in the general strategy section. ;)

Snap, I missed that one. Sorry about that. I just find it sad that Train of Thought can't make you opponent draw, then you could skip Exsanguinate all together and just tudor for it instead.

-MisterJ- I feel the same. Into the Roil also. I thought it'd be able to do infinite draws back then but I noticed the 'Kicker' part isn't 'Multikicker' lol.

VooDoo187, hahaha. It's confusing, but it works. ;)

I think you should add Charging Badger for more draw power.
