I don't know that there's a definitive answer.

  1. Ghostway
  2. Nevermore
  3. Lapse of Certainty
  4. Jester's Cap
  5. Grinning Totem
  6. Mana Tithe

Ghostway will make me lose the Auras i have attached, though, no?

Grinning Totem will just help them if they have graveyard recursion, like Eternal Witness.

But Nevermore and Jester's Cap are definitively going in! Thank you for the suggestions!

Wow, this is so similar to Serra's Realm Restored. Even down to Ancestral Mask and Karmic Justice :D Glad I'm not the only one who loves those cards :D

A big thank you to EVERYONE who contributed to make this deck better than it was, such as : neverdie, Steaditup, asasinater13 and Teal_Fox! You guys rock! (or girls, no offense!)

Hopefully, it will still improve! I'm still looking for advice, if you can spare the time.

This seems like a great build! I found some good cards that I'll try in my own build, like Karmic Justice and Bower Passage. I have some suggestions:

Maybe drop the Spider Umbra, since it seems like reach isn't really relevant, and you're running another good totem auras (and Umbra Mystic. If you need more removal, Unexpectedly Absent is a great card; it doesn't tuck the opposing commander, but it can be really useful, you can even cast it for X=0 to save Sigarda or another creature from a boardwipe or any removal, for that matter. I'm not entirely sure on Archon of Justice, since I can't see any way to sacrifice it, and your opponent would probably avoid killing it; I'd add Sublime Archangel it's a little vulnerable, but giving exalted to all your creatures would buff Sigarda (or another of your win conditions) a lot. Also, Savage Summoning is a great option if control is a problem in your meta.

If anything else comes to mind, I'll come again! +1

Vendilion_blink : Thanks for your time and input! Savage Summoning will get a spot once I'll have the cards mentionned in the first update. Spider Umbra and Archon of Justice will be removed this way.

Sublime Archangel is good, but I don't know if i'll ever have enough creatures on the board for it to be worthwhile. I mean, i may have an enchantress + Sigarda at any time, but for the rest... I'll playtest it. it seems good enough at the least.

Again, thanks for your time, and if you got any other suggestions or comments, please do share! It's always a pleasure, and i discovered so many cards and tactics thanks to everyone here.

I like this deck quite a bit, Sigarda, Host of Herons single-handedly brought me back to Magic after whatever was going on in Morrowind made me leave and with the new two expansion model coming in I'm getting ready to get out again. I invite you to look over my own Sigarda deck to see if you can get any cool ideas from there :D

How about adding Retether to the deck? I know you already have the better Replenish, but cannot tutor for sorceries so it might be better to have a second card in the deck to revive your enchantments from your graveyard. You have some 16 targets for it and the card can get you an unexpected win in the mid to late game when you recast Sigarda, Host of Herons and cast it before attacking with her the next turn. This way you'll hit your opponent way harder than he had expected.

I also love to play enchantment ramp in my own Sigarda deck. Cards like Utopia Sprawl (you don't have enough Forests for it) or Wild Growth can come down early and will draw you cards when your enchantresses are in play.

Tomahawk-Bang : Thank you for the time you took! I didn't know Retether even existed, so this comes down as a nice surprise. Sure, it's only Auras, but it's kind of the point of the deck also, so i'll try to get my hands on one!

Utopia Sprawl, as you said it yourself, won't see the light of day in here, since 4 Forests (5 if i count Temple Garden) is too few.

But Wild Growth could be a solid ramp addition. I'll check around for those two cards. What would you suggest to cut in order to put Retether and Wild Growth?

Tomahawk-Bang says... #11

Cut Jester's Cap for it? I don't feel that Jester's Cap is going nicely with your deck's overall theme. Also the cap doesn't give you card advantage as it only takes cards out of your opponent's libraries and not out of their hand. I feel that Retether will be better in this slot, it adds so much to your own deck's strategy and is singlehandedly able to turn the tides when you're on the edge of loosing.

For Wild Growth maybe cut Bower Passage? I tried Bower Passage myself and was never too happy with it because it just moves your opponent's flyers out of the way, but doesn't take care of creatures with reach. You've got enough cards that give trample or protection from creatures or colors to Sigarda, Host of Herons, so you'll usually just fly by or trample right over your opponent's flyers and their weak butts.

Another addition to the deck that came to my mind while writing this is Eidolon of Blossoms. Another enchantress effect that is also an enchantment by itself! Maybe cut Angelic Arbiter for this?

To add to my previous comment: Jester's Cap also doesn't go well with Stony Silence...

May 8, 2015 9:26 a.m.

Karzalar says... #13

That's funny, I was just thinking of actually cutting Stony Silence to make a spot back for the Selesnya Signet...

Jester's Cap is a great help of removing Black Sun's Zenith and Cyclonic Rift, two of the most common cards in my playground that can wreck Sigarda.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Karzalar says... #14

Also, to continue :

Bower Passage is a good card, since the opponent is reluctant to remove it, rather than, say, Unflinching Courage, which is insta-destroyed if able.

Also, my meta doesn't run much creatures with reach. And when it happens, Sigarda is usually strong enough to dispatch it quickly.

I already have an Eidolon of Blossoms, but i found it too slow.

Retether and Wild Growth will get a spot, since i need more ramp and recursion. The cards I'd say that are less useful, that i could cut, are :

But all in all, i want to keep Bower Passage... and Angelic Arbiter for the control it provides.

Also, do you think Eladamri's Call would be useful in this deck? Like for, say, tutoring Dragonlord Dromoka/Angelic Arbiter? I'm also considering Norn's Annex, would it be good enough in here? Sylvan Scrying is also on the hunt list.

P.S. : playground = meta. I don't know why i used that word.

I play Femeref Enchantress to help myself recover if a mass removal spell resolves. As I play a lot of auras those will all go to the graveyard once the board is wiped and I will draw tons of cards while my opponents won't.
I also make use of the exalted mechanic with cards like Qasali Pridemage and Cathedral of War.

I love my Gaddock Teeg! The advisor with the huge hammer has won me games just by delaying them for one or more turns as my opponents had to waste their removal spell on him to be able to play. He also stops cards like Black Sun's Zenith.

Eladamri's Call is also solid, I can definately recommed the card for this type of deck.

I don't like pillowfort cards, so I am no fan of Norn's Annex. I think that in a voltron deck the protection of your voltron creature should be more important than making it harder to attack for your opponents. I play Island Sanctuary for stopping my opponent's attacks.

I've had good results with Michiko Konda, Truth Seeker in my Rafiq of the Many deck.

Martyr's Bond is another card I really dig to tell opponents to back off.

May 16, 2015 9:20 a.m.

Karzalar says... #18

Both would be solid options, but they are so high in mana cost... Michiko Konda, Truth Seeker is good, but Martyr's Bond is harder to remove.

I'll have to playtest them both! Thank you for the suggestions.

Nice Looking deck Buddy! Thanks for the upvote! I returned the flavor! It's good to know you have been having success at tourney with this deck. I haven't been to an EDH tourney yet, but its good to know that I might stand a chance if I did. Keep up the good work!

TeraInferno : Akroma, Angel of Wrath as a late game beater can help me get those last points of damage missing, also it has haste, something my deck hasn't much... and is a valid target for my Cavern of Souls and Urza's Incubator, so i'll probably get one soon!

I already had Mirri's Guile but i forgot to update it. Turn 1, it simply means i won half the game if it stays.

I tried Quarantine Field, but either it was countered or it was a more costly Oblivion Ring. I may retest it, though. Thanks for the suggestions!

BotaNickill : You're welcome! This deck has had much success thanks to all the awesome people who suggested cards i never thought existed, and thus made it the beast it is today. The only thing that killed me in the last 20~ games is having mana drought.

Thank you for the +1 and i hope you find something worthwhile in here as ideas that can help!

Hey there. Nice list. A very different take on sigarda enchantress compared to my list. I found some cards very refresing, such as Bower Passage, Nevermore and Faith's Reward. One thing I did miss were the aura's that render commanders completely harmless, like Song of the Dryads and Darksteel Mutation. You could also add some land tutors to get caverns or sanctum, like Crop Rotation or Knight of the Reliquary.

Oh, and you can't play Blind Obedience as that has black as color identity as well.

GL!

Karzalar says... #24

@Beebles : Thank you for the upvote! While it's true that i don't have a Song of the Dryads, i got a Darksteel Mutation somewhere, i'll add it soon.

Knight of the Reliquary might not have a place in this one, though, due to the low quantity of Forest or Plains cards in there - most are dual colors or special, like Homeward Path. But if i can get one, i'll try it out! I might have to cut some nonbasics, though.

Crop Rotation, though, fits in very well!

Last thing : I was told that the Extort ruling (for Blind Obedience) is reminder, so it isn't a black color identity card. I'm gonna check again to be sure...

Thank you for your time and suggestions! I'll have to update the list after i get some of these.

I looked it up and you are actually right about Blind Obedience. Thanks for pointing that out.

If you have time, have a look at my Sigarda Build. I'm interested to hear your view on it.
