I would consider Mycosynth Lattice that way you can wipe their lands too... not sure what to take out tho

I can already wipe their lands. And Mycosynth Lattice helps everyone (assuming they still have some lands left). but thanks anyway.

Thanks for considering lol I missed the fact that they get to mess around with the mana too, I do like the deck though, good job

I run a mono-green variant of this. I'm running Oxidize instead of naturalize. Krosan Grip can destroy artifacts and enchantments and is good to run against control decks. Glissa Sunseeker can destroy lands at the same rate as they play them, similar to the trygon predator (now I wish I could run that :3 ). Myr Landshaper is another card that turns lands into targets for removal, although it is more frail and much slower than liquimetal coating. Also, right now, your deck has no 1-drops, which means a waste of the first turn. That's one more land you have to destroy! In my deck, I use Llanowar Elves to get my combo out faster, and Ancient Stirrings to find my liquimetal coating (I can't run fabricate). Also, a +1 for similar deck ideas (I won't post my deck because I'm not a cheapskate)

Haha thanks heaps. If you don't wanna post your deck here (and I actually respect that) then post it on my profile. I'll check it out for ya

That's a really great deck.Neat idea.It is also suprisingly consistent.Really good.Maybe make some room for a counter or two because a duress or a thoughtseize cold really screw you.

This will speed up your deck by ALOT and getting your colors alot faster because every playtest ends up in a fail only because of the lands but i do like your deck +1

-1 Island

-1 Forest

-4 Hinterland Harbor

+4 Breeding Pool

+2 Temple of Mystery

if your want to spend the money then go for these to empty your lands out a lil faster.

-4 Island

-4 Forest

+4 Misty Rainforest

+4 Verdant Catacombs

Thanks Mikailo. I'll see what I can do.

Insanity_Teck you are right, and thank you. But all of your suggestions blow out the budget. Maybe one day.

Cyrrus says... #10

Except for maybe Temple of Mystery . I like that suggestion

February 25, 2014 12:45 p.m.

Insanity_Teck says... #11

Temples are mostly for later game thats why i only sed +2

Insanity_Teck says... #12

and if you wanna play pro modern you gotta spend the money lol but i think it would be a funny game vs my affinity for elfs deck cuz it turns my elfs into artifacts then swarm!

Mikailo says... #13

Also i think you should put the Argent Mutation mostly because
Neurok Transmuter is really vunerable to removal.

February 25, 2014 2:17 p.m.

Insanity_Teck says... #14

Argent Mutation for 3?...ehh i dont think its worth it..

February 25, 2014 2:29 p.m.

Cyrrus says... #15

The 1st comment on the page is me suggesting this:

Should I remove
  • -2x Sculpting Steel
  • -2x Viridian Revel
for
  • +4x Argent Mutation
or possibly
  • +3x Argent Mutation
  • +1x Vedalken Orrery
??

What do you think?

isn't Phyrexian Metamorph Strictly better than Sculpting Steel ? You can still use it if you don't have a coating, or whatever you use, yet, or if your coatings get removed or Pithing Needle d or something

jimlandiaman says... #18

Phyrexian Metamorph does seem better, except it costs a little more... This deck is so Shatter -effect heavy, Pithing Needle will have a hard time staying on the board.

This is fantastic. I've spent two months looking for ideas to deal with the obnoxious Affinity deck a friend has been working on. That Liquimetal Coating + Naturalize combo just might make him rage-flip the table. Thank you.

Necrotize says... #20

Not sure if you'd want to go so overboard, but Mycosynth Lattice could work nicely, as could Elite Arcanist when it comes to artifact removal although the lattice tends to be on the pricey side and isn't really something that you'd absolutely need against anything but the fastest creature spawning decks. Also just spitballing, but Memnarch could be a wonderfully rage inducing card to add to this repertoire, using him to take control of the cards that are just too good to Naturalize , should your opponent get any or simply for having them play land for you.

@ElPared & jimlandiaman

@noisegeek
Thanks, I haven't had the chance to test this against an infinity deck yet but I imagine it will work well. You will have to let me know.
@Necrotize@DarkHero
Splashing another colour isn't really an option because if I wanna stick to budget I'm already struggling with land fixing. Anyway, I already have a B/R land destruction deck on this site.

Pelakka Wurm , Simic Sky Swallower of maybe Hellkite Tyrant if you feel like splashing a color. But I think the sky swallower would be a better replacement for Ulamog's Crusher

Kornex2000 says... #24

coolest deck I have seen in a long time. It definitely gers +1 from me

March 2, 2014 1:11 a.m.

This deck reminds me of my old deck Rust (Modern). A very good card I'd recommend is Glissa Sunseeker . You can simply just tap her to destroy single artificed lands. Nice list.
