weisemanjohn: Do it! You might really throw some players off after board.
JakeHarlow: Thank you! I appreciate the support and upvote. While I understand this deck isn't for everyone, I do highly recommend it!
Fulcrum: I continued to test with Savage Knuckleblade as a 2-of and it was still an issue of "whenever I draw this I want to be playing something else". He feels very similar to Loxodon Smiter , and I know there weren't any tier one control decks running him. Brimaz, King of Oreskos is good in a control build against aggro because it is able to come down early and provide a win condition while muddying up the field heavily, whereas knuckles kinda just sits there and blocks a goblin token.. :/

I really like the deck! +1. I have a few suggestions though if you don't mind.
What do you think about Swan Song instead of Negate ? I know it gives your opponent a bird, but it handles turn 1 Thoughtsieze.
I see that you are playing Crater's Claws . It is one of my personal favorite and I believe to be very undervalued. I know this one may throw your mana curve off a bit and probably all your deck....but Prophet of Kruphix works very well with Crater's Claws and Surrak Dragonclaw .
And lastly, what about Anger of the Gods for the sideboard. It may come in handy against all the tokes that will find their way onto the battlefield in the new meta game.
Hope I offered some useful food for thought.

I definitely think you should up Keranos, God of Storms to two. That thing is a beast. Utterly decimating anything mardu can even bring out to the field. In retrospect, the two cards that were pretty useless in playtesting were Jace, the Living Guildpact and Kiora, the Crashing Wave . Perhaps some more efficient control pieces over them, like a one or two of Negate s, Swan Song s and whatever else I'm forgetting.

Spooty,
This is kind of a kitchen sink build from you, there is a little bit of everything. 24 different cards, 33 including your sideboard, wow. Anyway I played it and the thing I found is that the pain and fetch lands as well as Mana Confluence tend to take their toll on your life if you don't land a Courser and sometimes even when you do. One match you were down 10 life mid game and I hadn't even hit you yet. Just a thought, Scry lands aren't as fast, but they don't hurt as much.
I would also think about running another Keranos, God of Storms , that thing really puts the clock on the game! Even though I never got it to become a creature, I could not get rid of it and it just picked me to death each turn.
Last thing is Jace, the Living Punching Bag, such a weird card, +1 pseudo-scry, -3 overpriced Cyclonic Rift and -8 whatever?!? I never really wanted to kill it, but I did feel the need to give it a punch in the face every once in a while. Not sure how I feel about a Planeswalker as a human shield but it does save you life I guess, still weird.
Not your average brew, but keeping it fresh is what makes you a good deck builder. Nice job. Still looking forward to your input, and a playtest when you get a chance, on my Post Rotation deck Wave Robbers (especially the sideboard)

Spooty playing red? IMPOSSIBLE! :O

Invisible_Stalker: I thought quite a bit about Swan Song after your comment and then Femme's afterwards. I'm still not sold. I understand the merit on countering a T1 Thoughtseize , but that's only on the draw. And one of the best parts of Negate is being able to hit walkers. Eventually I decided to stay with Negate, but I may change my mind in the future.
Prophet of Kruphix is another card that most everyone is talking to me about. While I understand how high the ceiling is on it and that it's much better after rotation, I just don't see it doing enough in this build. i'm usually not in need of a ton of mana even with Crater's Claws , and if I'm going to be spending 5 mana to "take a turn off" essentially (I know this is debateable but..well..yeah), I'd rather be playing Keranos.
Anger of the Gods I will be playing. I was on the fence but you pulled me to the side of reason. The card is just sooo good. Thanks!
Mrlicorice: Thank you :)
Femme_Fatale: Agreed, though I placed him in the side. I really like Jace and Kiora but certainly not against aggro. They're both really good in the mirror. That said, I've decided to remove one Jace in lieu of a 4th Lightning Strike . I think my aggro game needed a little bit better of a G1 after playtesting against your deck a few rounds. Your deck actually beat mine quite a bit in my games haha.
FrostyJams: Hopefully that's a compliment :P Yeah, there are a lot of one and two ofs but that's just how control decks and slow decks are sometimes. I agree that I'm taking too much damage from lands and Have begun phasing out the confluences. I'll have to continue testing to find the sweet spot. As mentioned above, I have another Keranos in now and have removed a single Jace. I still like him though. I have a hard time saying no to bounce spells with residual efficacy.
I appreciate your positivity and compliment :) I'll try to get a chance to give you some feedback.
Blizzicane: RIGHT?? I've actually been enjoying this color combo much more than I expected!

This is my kind of deck. Feels like a long lost cousin to my bant deck. :-) But I would propably go for 2 Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker and cut one forest or Elvish Mystic.I doubt Keranos will ever become a creature. But hey, he's a 4-of in my Izzet deck just for the sake of his ability. :-)

Always a compliment, just different than most of your decks is all.
I have also been through the Swan Song / Negate conundrum myself. Only having to leave 1U open for a counter is fairly deceptive to your opponent, but ultimately I also chose Negate for the ability to poof a Planeswalker.

I wouldn't play See the Unwritten in a deck with less than 24 creatures. Bricking on it is a huge tempo blowout.

Try Trap Essence (didn't read all comments sorry if already suggested)

Hey Spootyone. Glad to see the deck the loving it deserves. Curious as to if you've considered Prognostic Sphinx at all? It feels SOOO good in the upcoming meta game. No real sweeper, good stats against Stormbreath Dragon , good stats against 'speth. Also scry 3! Scry. 3. It's really powerful!
On an unrelated note I'm looking for some inspiration a real project to stick to throughout khans. If you have an cool ideas, or decks that you want to see made hit me up!
Best of luck!

Kiora_Fan-01: Nahh. Card is decent (especially for limited) but It's more for midrange. I have burn and Temur Charm for removal. Thanks though!
Urbanned: Awesome :) Yeah I think I'll be removing See the Unwritten and replacing one Stormbreath Dragon with a second Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker .
Starbane: <3
Energycore: I mostly agree with you. And since I have so much focus on walkers I think I'll just replace it with a second Sarkhan. Or Prognostic Sphinx since losing it makes ferocious less necessary.
Krishnaaaa: Haven't, but it doesn't seem amazing here. The ceiling is high, the floor is quite low. I don't have the card advantage or mana sinks to justify it I feel.
skyguy5: I think Trap Essence is pretty lackluster versus other hard counters in the format. And Temur Charm does pretty well at serving triple-duty I'm finding. Thanks you though!
RedSoxFanKy: the biggest reason I've forgone sphinx until now is so that I have creatures, instead, that trigger ferocious. That said, I think I'm going to replace See the Unwritten with him. You're right in saying he's incredible.
Thanks to everyone for the continued support!

Try Jund midrange and see how that goes. Everyone else seems to be doing some form of mardu. Regardless of what they are doing, mine is far superior ;p

Ey yo peeps...anyone know how good sarkhan is? Should I play three instead of two...?

I really like Sarkhan and would probably run another copy, but i'm not a pro. As a control and Temur player, I really appreciate this list.

No, three planeswalkers that don't really kill themselves is not a good idea. I vote for another Keranos, God of Storms in the mainboard.
September 22, 2014 1:10 a.m.
Sarkhan is a complete HOUSE. A lot of lists are running x4. Another Sarkhan might not be a bad idea. Have you playtested with Xenagos, The Reveler at all yet? Sounds alright as well.

I personally really like the Knuckleblade. For your build, I think it would be fine as a 2-3 of, just as a beat stick. Kinda like the GW decks that play both Courser and Brimaz. But it's your choice. If it feels like a distraction, you can cut it, but I recommend experimenting at least.
