capriom85: Just left you a lengthy response on your forum post, actually. I would say that I recommend it, but that you should probably check in often for the time being as I'm still working out the kinks myself. (and also, the +1 didn't go through D: ) Thank you!

Dude, how did you put the pictures in the middle of the page? Whenever I put a picture it always goes to the left side of the page like text. :P

I just got 1st at FNM with my deck, I tried the control route but it's pretty difficult. Changed to a more tempo strat. Here it is.Temur Munster Mash!

Changed a lot since last time I saw it, loving it so far, maybe courser of Kruphix for some untapping of the mana and to burn/directly burn the opponent or creatures of theirs for ages, with all those counter spells it might be a possibility? Most of the creatures are gone :o how has this Temur been working for you lately? I'm interested to see how the control variant goes :)

It troubles me that you only have five ways to win the game (if Courser of Kruphix counts), none of which are particularly hard to remove. I might try Pearl Lake Ancient because you can ramp to it pretty easily, it's very resilient and benefits from you countering all their spells. Prognostic Sphinx is another standard, solid choice.

GlistenerAgent: You forget my most-used method of winning the game: Burn. Strombreath and soul of shandalar are finishers that do well alongside a burn strategy to finish off the opponent but also provide great defensive blockers against mono green devotion and abzan midrange.

Krishnaaaa: Potentially. I'll have a new deck description up soon where I go over things again.

I'm not sure how you normally play the deck, but I feel like a lot of the burn will be used on creatures rather than your opponent, and since you only run 12 you run the risk of them finding ways to win before you do. The issue with playing only three creatures to "finish off" opponents is that those will eat their 2 copies of Hero's Downfall that have been sitting there all game. I do see the advantage against Green Devotion, however.

This deck wins with inevitability. If im playing against a deck whose creatures die to burn, i burn the ones I need to and counter the rest. Things that remain or get through that I cannot handle have the option of being vaulted. There are a number of draw spells to keep me fueled and there is bow of nylea to keep me healthy. Additionally, bow of nylea acts similarly to elixir of immortality by being able to place cards back into my deck when things go awry. With the amount of damage people take from thoughtseize, lands, etc., its quite doable to burn someone out in the late game. And i run enough counters to be able to set up turns where i lay one of my main threats and have mana leftover to counter responses or kill spells. Its similar to an esper deck running just a couple copies of Elspeth as their win con. Once one gains full control of the board its easy to close things out.

Ah, missed that function of Bow of Nylea , that's very cool. If you are playing for inevitability, I prefer Divination to that Jace's Ingenuity to allow you to establish yourself more consistently in the early game. Ingenuity is better when you are in the "Revelation for 15, Dissolve anything that moves" mode, but when you are trying to stabilize is considerably worse.

Just play tested this against my prototype Jeskai control deck Jeskai et Contemplation and it was a slow, drawn out game but ultimately the combination of Soul of Shandalar's Ability (as well as being a 6/6 body buffed by Bow of Nylea counters) and Stormbreath definitely won you the first game.

Game two went to turn 11, my deck won but with only 4 life left, you had TWO Stormbreath Dragons out and if I hadn't sided in my Monastery Flock and Mantis Rider you would have destroyed me.

The third game went to turn 12. I tried sideboarding in my more aggresive cards spped things up but I still lost mostly because Stormbreath has flying (haste and protection from Chained to the Rocks also helps A LOT!)

Overall, a very strong deck, and +1 from me :)

With this deck the way it is now, you should just make it Izzet (Blue/Red)

I absolutely love your build! +1!

And I thought I was one of the only people to love the bow :')

I also love the 8 aggro cards SB, I think I'll try such tricks too, sounds like a lot of fun :) thnx ;)

I don't want to spend a big amount of money for a playset of SB rabble master so what would you suggest instead. Would Savage knuckleblade do the trick ?

October 15, 2014 8:20 p.m.

I'm really liking the Steam Augury in this list, very cool choice. However, still not a fan of the Jace's Ingenuity and think it could be a different, less clunky draw spell.

October 15, 2014 8:30 p.m.

Spootyone says... #18

queensbitch: Rabblemaster is quite powerful but I can understand the money issue (having that myself right now with this deck (BTDubs, does anyone have any rabblemasters they're looking to get rid of...?)). Knuckleblade is a good choice, I'd say. You do need to watch out though, because green mana might be too hard to achieve that early. I think you should try it out and let me know how it goes :)

GlistenerAgent: The ingenuity is honestly quite good, but if Steam Augury continues to be as powerful and synergistic as it has begun seeming to be, I might just go up to three instead of the 5-drop.

I really like the direction this is taking! Kudos to you good sir...

I just wanted to know what made the decision to move away from Prognostic Sphinx . Playing that card makes you less reliant on Bow of Nylea to recur your wincons, and the scry ability as well as strong blocking capability are solid.

tooTimid: Thank you! Before I was all <---->, and now I'm all <---->. This is like the Ajani Vengeant Spooty, here.

GlistenerAgent: Well, prog sphinx is a great control win con, but I wanted something a little more aggressive. Stormbreath has haste, more power, and the ability to monstrous. Yes, it can't be given hexproof, but I'd rather not put all my resources into one card anyway. I just like having it as a solid way to seal the deal once my opponent is tapped out at 4-8 life. And I don't want to run both because I have very limited slots for creatures.

October 15, 2014 9:32 p.m.

I might try replacing the Soul with Prog-Nog, because that creature also takes a pretty hefty investment, and doesn't actually do much other than Bolt them a couple times at most.

October 15, 2014 9:49 p.m.

Spootyone says... #23

GlistenerAgent: To each their own :) I need the soul because of it's ability to block and kill creatures in the MGD matchup as well as the Abzan matchup. And I have a personal love for the combo between him and the bow. I also like that (unlike Proggerino) Soul has a use after being Thoughtseize 'd or Hero's Downfall 'd. This actually won me a match tonight, in fact.

How much have you considered Searing Blood ? I understand the double red may be difficult at times. Plus there are not that many two toughness creatures being played; however, dealing three to a player after they play a Goblin Rabblemaster or killing a Xenagos, the Reveler and his token seems solid. Thanks!

NastyNate says... #25

You can't redirect Searing Blood damage to a Planeswalker, it say's Creature's Controller. Not Opponent or Player.
