Hey there! Bug your opponents with lots of bugs!

The goal is to have 20 or more creatures on the field while Epic Struggle is active.

Use Cultivate, Kodama's Reach, Rampant Growth, and Evolving Wilds to thin out your deck, in order to raise the probability of drawing Epic Struggle. All the creatures and the sorcery Beacon of Creation exist in order to put as many token creatures on the board as possible.


Ant Queen: Not only a 5/5 but also a little factory for insect tokens.

Beacon of Creation: This sorcery creates a 1/1 green insect creature token for every Forest that you controll. That can be as little as 4 or up to 18!

Cultivate: This sorcery has 2 purposes. 1) It thins out your deck by letting you search for 2 Forest, taking 1 to your hand the other gets placed tapped on your battlefield. That is 2 cards less in your deck, which is good because you want to draw and play Epic Struggle. 2) Now you have one more land in play and another one that you can play next turn.

Epic Struggle: This card is your key to win the game. Have at least 20 creatures in play at the beginning of your upkeep while this enchantment is active and you win.

Evolving Wilds: This card lets you search for a basic land and play it. That means that you thin out your deck by up to 4 cards, which raises the chance of you drawing Epic Struggle or another spell that will be useful.

Hornet Nest: This is a relatively cheap creature that if damaged creates a 1/1 green insect creature token with flying and deathtouch for every damage dealt. That plays into your win condition and also offers some protection.

Hornet Queen: This is basically 5 flying insect creatures with deathtouch. It offers some protection and plays into your win condition to have at least 20 creatures under your controll.

Kodama's Reach: This spell has the same functionality as Cultivate.

Rampant Growth: Basically Kodama's Reach but small.

Bifurcate: This card allows you to search for a copy of a creature already in play and put it onto the battlefield. That paired with Hornet Queen means that you can play a Hornet Queen for 4 mana instead of 7.

Scute Swarm: This creature plays into your win condition by creating a 1/1 green insect creature token for every land you play while it is on your battlefield. It also creates a copy of itself whenever you play a land and control 6 or more lands while doing so. There will be some fun combos with Evolving Wilds and Cultivate, Kodama's Reach, and Rampant Growth.

Edit #1: Licecolony suggested to use Song of Freyalise and I think it is a good idea. The card would allow you to use every creature like a forest for 2 turns and on your third turn all your creatures would gain: +1/+1, trample, vigilance, and indestructible until end of turn. Although I don't think the trample does much for 1/1 tokens, the +1/+1, indestructible, and vigilance certainly will.

I am really bad at deciding what card should be replaced by it, so I put it in the sideboard. This way the original deck stays and people can decide for themselves.

Edit #2: I added Stampede to the maybe board, because I think that maybe in combination with Song of Freyalise it might actually be a good card and in some situations it may be good as well. The card was suggested by Licecolony.
