The deck above is a modification for what I did, the replacements in the maybeboard.
It really worked well as an aggro deck. Taking control of the board early and keeping it. It was really fun to play something surprising and different. For me there's a lot of fun in playing a turn one Stoneforge Acolyte and having your opponent read it with a 'what the heck?' look on their face (especially after a couple wins, and they are thinking - this thing got here?)
CHANGES:
Nahiri, the Harbinger - is a great card, but the removal being limited to tapped creatures just didn't fit here. When she hit the table I needed to keep the pressure on. The +2 is good, but maybe not worth it.
Gideon, Ally of Zendikar - is also an amazing card. I went all night without drawing it, but wasn't missing it either.Replaced with -> 3x Collective Defiance. The tie round I got my opponent to 3 and 1 life before he game back.
Captain's Claws - this card did a lot of a good work for me, actually. But the reality is that too often the 1/1 tokens were blocked without issue.
Replaced with -> Stoneforge Masterwork - the theory here is to go a bit taller. Everything is either artificer or ally.
Collective Effort another card that I like and works pretty well. But the speed of this deck, meant that early chump blockers were an issue. Put it in the sideboard though, too in love with this card to let it go. Replaced with -> Ride Down - another card to surprise your opponent. But this is is a great card to get some surprise damage in for a finishing blow. Ishkanah is everywhere, and too often I'd be rolling toward a win and my opponent would drop ishkanah - putting a chump blocker halt to my progress. I'm hoping Ride Down will let me push over that final hump.
Gisela, the Broken Blade and Bruna, the Fading Light - these are tough to let go. I'm not sure I'm making the right call here. Gisela did good work for me, she's nuts good, especially with equipment. But with the switch to Stoneforge Masterwork she wouldn't get the advantage there.
Replaced with -> Scrapper Champion - will this work out? Don't have the energy to keep pumping him up, but the equipment should do it?
I also had a dire need for mid game haste, in recovering from a wipe, or a some good removal, I often needed a fast swing at a planeswalker on the board. I contemplated Strider Harness but thought I'd add a couple Hanweir Battlements - I worry they will screw up the mana, but playtesting will tell.
Any thoughts would be really appreciated. This is a fun (budget) deck that can catch people by surprise if it gets the right draw.
