Resigned yourself to your glorious faith......I'm coming to claim my prize.

Only a few would stand up to a God, let alone a God of the Dead. Erebos, God of the Dead, is by far one of the best, if not THE best Mono-black commander to choose from if you wish to go down the path of the damned. Erebos himself is a great commander choice by the fact that he is a God and like all Gods in Theros, he is indestructible. But, what makes him stand out from the rest of the Gods is that He has a built-in Greed ability on his body and for the icing on the cake he will prevent your OPPONENTS to gain life while you can sap away the life-essence of your foes.

Now to his faithful servants from the Shadows...

Shadowborn Apostle are one of the Key factors to this deck. While you got other tutors like Demonic Tutor and Vampiric Tutor to search of key components nothing compares to the Shadowborn Apostles ability. Even though you need to sac six of them to trigger it's ability, having the ability to search for any demon from Harpy-creating army Abhorrent Overlord, to the spot removal Shadowborn Demon, to the foul-playing, turbo-tutoring demon razaketh, the foulblooded is a pretty big deal... and having 29 of them in the deck to be able to activate this ability multiple times in a game.

Couple Key Combos for the deck:

Shadowborn Apostle + Thrumming Stone = the most known combo when mentioning either Shadowborn Apostles and Relentless Rats but this combo it's your bread and butter of the deck but, not necessary to win the game.

Shadowborn Apostle + Bitter Ordeal = One of my favorite things to do in this deck. If you play with a group of combo-heavy enabling jabronies. This combo will make them flip the table. If you sack your Shadowborns and then play this you just grab their 6 best cards if not more when you have an army of Apostles who are willing to sacrifice themselves for the Greater Good.

Shadowborn Apostle + Skullclamp = one of the best way to drawn cards. Can get out of hand quickly.

Overall:

You have a lot of synergy with this deck by tool-boxing for any key cards with the various tutors in the deck and quickly react to any situation that your opponents throws at you. The deck still runs pretty good even if you only have one or two lands in play (I litterally won a game with this deck with only having two swamps for the entire game!)

This deck is perfect for my play style and it's not too OP that people will avoid playing with you but, if you really want to make this deck busted. Just throw in the Sanguine Bond + Exquisite Blood Combo and Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker in which you can really make this deck busted.
