The idea of this deck is to take advantage of these words on Erebos, God of the Dead:

"Indestructible" and "Your opponents can't gain life".

Pestilence and friends are perfect at clearing the way for a Voltron-ed Erebos. Once life gain is turned off for your opponents, you pressure all life totals then start finishing them off.

EDIT: After some playing I've made some changes. I'm a lot lighter on the Voltron plan now and have tried to pack in some quality creatures. I've found that it is actually difficult to get enough devotion to turn on Erebos a lot of the time, however, I found that the powerful equipment worked well as long as I had a creature and was killing off potential blockers.

PESTILENCE:

Pestilence, Crypt Rats, Thrashing Wumpus, Pestilence Demon, Last Laugh, and to a lesser extent Plague Spitter, and Dakmor Plague.

CREATURE SUPPRESSION:

All the Pestilence stuff, Mutilate, Dictate of Erebos, Doomwake Giant, Death Pits of Rath, Archfiend of Depravity, Decree of Pain, In Garruk's Wake, Steel Hellkite, Season of the Witch, Tainted AEther, Spreading Plague, and Midnight Banshee

VOLTRON PACKAGE:

Nightmare Lash, Lashwrithe, Strata Scythe, O-Naginata, Inquisitor's Flail, Empyrial Plate, Fireshrieker, Dauthi Embrace, and Rogue's Passage

LEECHES/ONE TIME DAMAGE:

CARD DRAW:

Erebos, God of the Dead, Graveborn Muse, Dregs of Sorrow, Bloodgift Demon, Decree of Pain, Kothophed, Soul Hoarder, Night Dealings, Underworld Connections, and Necropotence

There is also lifegain built in to counteract Pestilence against yourself.

Let me know what you think!

Updates Add

Based on the matches I'd previously played, it seems like the deck was trying to straddle using creatures alongside a very anti-creature strategy. This increases the number of enchantments to turn on Devotion, while also trying to lower the average CMC.

IN: Liability, Westvale Abbey  Flip, Underworld Connections, Spreading Plague, Diabolic Tutor, Inventors' Fair, Dauthi Embrace, Night Dealings, Kothophed, Soul Hoarder, Tainted AEther, Season of the Witch, and Black Market.

OUT: 2x Swamp, Butcher of Malakir, Painful Quandary, Dregs of Sorrow, Evincar's Justice, Whip of Erebos, Patron of the Nezumi, Reiver Demon, Whispersilk Cloak, Profane Command, Reaping the Graves

Still probably a lot more changes to come once I get a sense of how this update changes things.
