The idea of the deck is running artifacts that make an effect when they are sacrificed (spellbombs) and reuse them to lock the opponent. The spellbombs used in this deck are Aether Spellbomb and Executioner's Capsule.
Some creatures included in the deck interact with artifacts in the following ways:
- Trinket Mage lets you search for the spellbombs and artifact lands.
- Disciple of the Vault deals extra damage every time an artifact is sacrificed.
- Dhund Operative gets a bonus if you control artifacts.
As the deck is focused on sacrificing artifacts, it's important to have ways to retrieve them from the graveyard, like Archaeomender or Fortuitous Find.
