Hello Everyone! This is my first take at a control deck. I first started out with Bant control but then the black cards in this new set just made me rethink it into Esper. -This is your standard control shell with the top decking brought down to a science so you know EXACTLY what you're going to draw before you draw it. That is why Anticipate is in there. I'm thinking Impulse is back in standard. Also Dig Through Time and Thassa, God of the Sea help make the draws more effective-Counter spells... control deck period Dissolve + Ojutai's Command are sexy in this deck, actually made for this really. Negate for those stupid burn decks.-Removal... I was debating on Utter End Against Hero's Downfall and then was convinced of Hero's Downfall because it costs less and the threats that aren't planeswalkers and creatures are simply not there. Silumgar's Command is insane. Counter there Dig Through Time or rebounded one and bounce a PERMANENT back to their hand. Just pure beauty. Valorous Stance because Courser of Kruphix and Siege Rhino are a thing and/if my Dragonlord Ojutai is Tapped, can make it indestructible. Radiant Purge is mostly for Siege Rhino, large dragons or the pesky Jeskai Ascendancy/Temur Ascendancy combo decks. -Planeswalkers... Ugin, the Spirit Dragon because he is a total bad ass. Narset Trnascendant because SHE is a total bad ass as well. Free card draw is nice, especially if you know what's on top of your library. Elspeth, Sun's Champion is one of the best utility cards I can think of, aside from the new Sarkhan Unbroken. She is made for a board wip when need be and a late game finisher. -Creatures... Dragonlord Ojutai is a VERY cool card that will help me out turn five and slowly go in for the kill, especially against the mirror control match-up where I would rather kill them without decking out.
