This is my version of a U/W/B control deck that's made to withstand the meta quite well and can hold it's own against virtually any deck. The black splash is for fun things like Lingering Souls and Esper Charm. It also makes Dismember hurt less.
Maindeck:
Elspeth, Knight-Errant- When Im lacking in creatures, she provides, when Im not, she wins. What more needs to be said?
Path to Exile- swings with 20/20 flying doublestrike I tap a plains and exile your creature, but dont worry, you get a basic land! It's just great on board removal for if I miss countering something
Dismember- I mean it can't kill a 20/20 flyer like that path but it's still some sweet removal.
Mana Leak, Remand, Spell Snare, Cryptic Command- counters annoyances. The reason that I run 2xSpell Snare is only because there are an abundance of absurdly strong two drops (e.g. Tarmogoyf)
Geist of Saint Traft, Lingering Souls- Resilient win conditions for one low mana cost. That's the part where your opponent just cries.
Snapcaster Mage- Dont think I need to explain this one but for those of you that are uneducated this card brings back that Path to Exile that dealt with that 20/20 earlier
Tasigur, the Golden Fang- 1 mana 4/5 with draw ability? Yes please!
Lingering Souls- Previously mentioned, this card just happens to be my best friend. It offers an absurd amount of value for a single card and I find myself always wanting more of them.
That concludes our tour,
Please, feel free to playtest and let me know how it works; all criticism is welcomed as I believe it is for the greater good of this deck.
Enjoy and happy hunting
