I would run Favorable Winds but that's just me I think, pumps the angel token, resto, and your spriit tokens coming out with moorland. Just an idea though

diatryma maybe it's just that i feel like there are better things i could be doing on turn two and i don't know what i would cut

diatryma I agree with Glitterfang . I feel that although the +1/+1 might help in some situations, having 2 drop counterspells is so much more important. You want to secure the board in your favour by bouncing anything mildly threatening, so that on turn three you can cast Blade Splicer or Geist of Saint Traft without fear of being trampled by anything too big.

Also, as this deck doesn't solely run creatures with flying, I really cannot justify the value of giving that card a place in this deck.

Conjurer's Closet could let you flicker those critters with the "enters play/the battlefield" trigger.

Okay that Think Twice is actually hurting my eyes, and I know you have Jace Beleren. And splash black for Lingering Souls just for fun.

atlantis55555 No I dont really think my deck needs too much draw so I'm probably gonna leave it how it is. I will do some playtesting with it anyhow

atlantis55555 This deck is already really tight for spots, and so playing a card that doesn't really do anything instead of holding mana for a counterspell doesn't seem worth it.

Glitterfang lol... But I actually think the deck is a lot better now with the Lingering Souls

Played a deck similar recently, Bitterblossom plus Sorin, Solemn Visitor is often unbeatable free wins. worth trying out.

I agree that they have some crazy synergy together but they're built more for a token type deck and seem to give me even more strength in my good matchups but hinder me more in my bad ones...although it will take some consideration and I will playtest with it...Thanks!

Would Dragonlord Ojutai make the cut? Forces them not to tap out if they want to kill it. It still is five mana, which is pretty high.

Esperblossom

This is a Bitterblossom version of the your deck I made. It goes heavier in black, and cuts Restoration Angel to be less vulnerable to removal. Of course, Vendilion Clique and Bitterblossom are expensive, so there's that. I don't think Sorin, Solemn Visitor is good enough because it's purely synergy.

Nice deck bro, +1. Gotta love esper. I run something similar, except tokens, but I sometimes go more aggro with Delver and Geist. My deck is Mentors of the Lost Arts, but you should also check out Esper Twix (Featured by Ali Aintrazi - TCG Player). I think you can get some good info from it, his deck was just featured in an article and is similar to yours.

Good stuff bro. Any suggestions on my deck would be appreciated from a fellow Esper too (;

jonathanveedot How could I make this stronger against burn/aggro decks? Control, tempo and combo are easy matchups but aggro is always the hardest.

June 5, 2015 9:25 p.m.

Burn decks usually are weak to life gain and discard. I see you have a lot of counter, I would trade some of that in for some more hand disruption main deck. A burn deck wants to spam burn spells and ignore what you do to win as fast as possible. Once it loses speed and gets to top-decking, they're usually done. Kor Firewalker can win matches against burn by himself. Aggro is always the tougher match-up, and the game plan for me is to empty their hand, and keep the field clean. It'll be a grindy match and top deck war. I usually hold back my snapcaster mages so that I can flashback at those clutch moments when their fatties hit the board. Esper is considered a "balanced" or "fair" deck, so we never actually dominate, but we are able to hold up against the other archetypes. I'm hoping for something nice in the new expansion for the colors -____- lol.

jonathanveedot I'm not too sure about discard, I have done some playtesting with it in the past and I've never been too sure about it. If I were to mainboard some it would definitely be Inquisition of Kozilek; the life loss from Thoughtseize is too much for me to handle. However, I will playtest with it some more and see how it works. As far as Kor Firewalker goes, it's been pretty hard for me to decide whether to sideboard him or Kitchen Finks for the burn matchup, and now I have to say I'm leaning more towards the Firewalker just because, as you said yourself, he can flat-out win games against burn on his own. Thank you for all your other very helpful tips, I will be sure to use them all during my next FNM or tournament.

what does Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir do for you? Kor Firewalker, as everyone says, does well against burn. Leyline of Sanctity does well against burn, 8 rack, and anything with hand disruption and burn. In general it does very well when you are boarding out more than you board in, plus hoses burn. a pet favorite of mine is Sanctimony for burn.

GlitterFang says... #25

Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir is very good against splinter twin decks, seeing as it has flash and causes their Deceiver Exarch to lose flash. I generally don't need something like Kor Firewalker when facing burn, seeing as I can just use things like Inquisition of Kozilek and Dispel to quickly put them into top deck mode. I also have Timely Reinforcements to regain health. The only problem with Sanctimony and Leyline of Sanctity is that almost all green-red burn decks (which seem to be very popular at the moment), are running Destructive Revelry which make the cards redundant and too killable. Thanks for your input!
